Hey, for those who saw my comment a week or two ago about Christian actor and author, Kirk Cameron, holding a story time at the Indianapolis library, after the library declined to host a story hour for him to read his new children’s book, here is what happened, described by an acquaintance who attended: “We were there and on the sixth floor. Barely got to see him from a distance when he came out to address the crowd after two story times (didn't make it into the story hour). There were way more than 750 people who showed up. The library made an announcement during the first story hour that they were at capacity and the entire 6th floor was packed full with barely room to move around. Well over 1000 on the 6th floor alone and there was an estimate of another thousand on other floors and outside because they couldn't get to the 6th floor. Library/news is definitely trying to downplay how many people were there.”
Yay and keep it up everyone!
(News reports claim only 750 people. Which still seems like an awful lot of folks for a story hour that wasn’t even acknowledged on the library’s website. People who attended say the place was packed with at least a thousand people present.)
