My oldest son, who is way too young to retire, did the same thing right after the lock downs. He is a programmer in the cloud and now works from home for Butcher Box. Left NYC and moved to Chattanooga.

BTW, for anyone looking to re-locate to a smaller town, check out Soddy-Daisy, TN. Pop 14K and only a short drive from Chattanooga.

As an ex-NYC citizen, he loves it there. He lives half-way up Signal Mountain.

We have friends from Soddy-Daisy and we actually owned a second home in the Hixson for a few years. Our first grandchild had been born and she was eight hours away, so we bought a foreclosure home and renovated it in order to spend time with family. Are you familiar with the "flying saucer" house near Signal Mountain?

Yeah...My son lives right down the "street" from that house. Streets there are paved mountain side trails.

That's encouraging Phil. The ability to move and live in far flung places sounds like it is going to be great perk for this type of work. Chattanooga sounds GREAT compared to NYC!
