We have a small holding and raise our own cattle and sheep. Our home-kill butcher does exactly what Kay’s farmer friend mentioned and the result is happy animals who live a good life and have a quick, painless, fear-free death. And the meat is spectacular!

There was an in depth study done on deer meat in nys, decades ago when I hunted. The bottom line was this, after studying hundreds of kills. The meat from an animal that literally was killed by a head shot, was the most tender by far. And an animal that had to be tracked more than a few yards was literally crap, meat all tough. Killing a dear with a bow was the worst. They even tested road kill. I haven’t been able to find it, it was study done by a college up there before all colleges became retard factories.
