Guessing most Minnesotans would disagree that Walz respects his neighbors’ personal choices; I seem to recall he didn’t show much respect for their choices to breathe or not take the poison during Covidmania. Of course, communists don’t even think there’s such a thing as personal choice, so… Still don’t understand why the GOP is not hammering on this more and showing the news clips from the past 4 years.

Or to keep their business open, or not wear a mask, or celebrate holidays with family…

Or setting up "snitch lines" so neighbors could report on each other during Covid. But sure, he's a "mind your own business" kind of guy. Blech.

Colorainbow Governor Polis was on National TV claiming he was pro-choice Libertarian on Vaxxing even as he had a Mandate on State Employees in force...media lets them have it both ways, it's not lying, flip-flopping, or hypocrisy, it's "Adeptness, Reading the Room, changing with the Science", or whatever bullshit excuse. Polis also put infected elderly into senior living centers like Walz and Cuomo and other Eldercide-minded Dem Governors

They don't want their behavior during that time called into question, so they're trying to memory hole the whole debacle.

They’d be better off to face those questions instead of leaving them to he answered by the opposition.

The two major political parties constitute a bipartisan dictatorship that is anchored by a shared guaranteed ballot access arrangement where both function as a controlled opposition for each other while preventing third parties from getting on the ballot to compete with both of them.

Certainly many in the GOP/RNC agree(d).

Because the GOP is in the same boat....just on different oars!

Completely off topic, but your boat metaphor reminded me: our family watched the 2023 movie "Boys in the Boat." I highly recommend it. I know many may be weary given it was released within the last year and given that it was directed by George Clooney of all people, but it is the dramatization of the 1936 University of Washington crew team's journey to the Olympics. Honestly - not a single woke message in the whole thing. Just straight up inspirational story telling.

Thanks for an honest review from a voice that I trust!

My all time favorite movie about Olympics is “Chariots of Fire”, truly a classic.

My family describes this movie as "the movie 'Miracle' (about the 1980 hockey team) but for rowing." And yes, I have to re-watch "Chariots of Fire"!

“Miracle” - Love that movie, too!!

Oh my, I will never forget watching Team USA in Lake Placid. Ah-mazing.

My friend says there is a book which she says is SO MUCH better (and she liked the movie - but the book gives more details).

As we walked out of the theater when we watched it the first time, a complete stranger to my hubby & me, gushed "Oh wow!! This was great!! But have you read the book!?" We replied that we hadn't. I'm certain, as your friend mentioned, the book is even better. 😊

Similarly, if you haven’t read the book “Seabiscuit” - and I LOVE the movie, well, the book is an 11 out of 10! 💖

Truth. I read the book. Much deeper and more character development. The movie is good after reading the book.

re: "Of course, communists don’t even think there’s such a thing as personal choice". Sure they do. Killing babies in the womb & choosing one's gender. Really important "rights" that help their agenda to destroy the fabric of Western Civilization.

So ultimately still not personal… as evidenced by the one-child policy.

Yes, I am, and I’m aware China changed it after 35 years — but not because they recognized the legitimacy of individuals’ personal choices. I agree with you, the policy ended because it no longer supports the “greater good” as the communist rulers define it. The greater-good idea is what allowed such an atrocious policy to take hold in the first place, and I can see it happening in the West or anywhere that people just blithely accept Marxist ideas without recognizing the implications.

Are you referring to the one child policy in China? China actually changed the policy in 2015. But China is in the East. I wouldn't call it part of Western Civilization, although the West has definitely had an impact on Chinese civilization and culture, especially in recent years. Communism has never been about freedom. About personal choice. Unless it serves the greater Cause.

Agree times infinity… also like the commie cackler, tampon tim used lawfare against innocent people who disagreed with him using his inhumane covid policies. That should be debate talking points for Trump when Kamala claims she is for law and order, and he is a “criminal.” Commie Kamala has a history of using lawfare against innocent people in California (in addition to the FJB administration), for example (can’t remember his name) the guy who exposed planned parenthood seeking baby parts, and many more.

Nah, lots of ppl from MN, especially city folk, still think c19 is something they should justifiably fear.

As a result they are not upset about mandates, masks, shut downs etc…

It’s not like they exactly stood up to them at the time. I don’t recall much pushback from the GOP on the lockdowns and then the mandates.

There was plenty in my state, and i think the GOP was (and is) way less likely to interfere at the federal level with the states and localities opening things up. I also think they would have eased restrictions sooner at the federal level and not coddled the covidians still clinging to their masks and demanding every man/woman/child be injected in order to participate in public life. Neither party was blameless, but I believe we all fare better when the people in charge at least believe there is such a thing as private life, personal choice, and personal responsibility, and that we and our children don’t belong to the state. That is the opposite of most Dems’ worldview.
