Yes! Even in good churches there is not this sort of prayer and public petition! It's all "let's set our burdens down and worship the Lord."
Well, some burdens aren't meant to be "set aside" but to be hefted onto the shoulders of our God, with loud and earnest prayers of lament rather than song.
In terms of maturity, the Western church has regressed to that of a spoiled child with no wisdom. I can't speak for the Eastern church which has already seen much persecution.
