Get an MRI fast enough and the typical TIA white spots will show up on a brain scan if done within an hour or so of the obvious stroke symptoms clearing up.

Schactel's report of racing to a Las Vegas hospital with police clearing the roads and then suddenly diverting to Air Force 1 for a super fast flight to the east sounds to me like a TIA which began clearing up within about an hour of the 1st stroke symptoms.

I've a relative who had a TIA. I got her to an ER within 30 minutes of witnessing first symptoms. After 15-20 minutes in the ER her stroke symptoms of getting words out and some balance issues started to clear up. Got her into an MRI after less than 1 hour of arriving at the ER. The next morning the entire hospital neuro team was at her bedside slack jawed because most had never seen a live TIA patient with an MIR showing the TIA tiny white spots on any scans.
