I know, it makes no sense. As best as I can parse it out, people who say such things have the idea that there are all these shadowy rabid right-wing kooks out there, mainly in the red states, and especially in the South, who are (so they seem to believe) the only ones who could possibly be objecting to the "the science" of "the vaccines." And of course it is also an article of religious faith among them that not only are the shots totally safe, but the Bad Orange Man is Very, Very, Very Bad Indeed. There's no common sense, basic logic, nor any curiosity evidenced on their part about any of this. At least that has been my personal experience with the people I know who say such things. They've all taken anywhere from 3 to 8 of these shots by now, and a lot of them have bad brain fog (which they ascribe to old age or their multiple covid infections). And they're still reading the New York Times. And, by the way, attending an unusual number of funerals.
