We have community electrical aggregate programs that ‘shop’ our electrical power needs to various providers which then choose which one provides the best deal. The problem is the companies that would like to be considered for this program must get a minimum of 8% of their power from ‘green’ energy sources (wind, solar). As these sources are less cost effective, their rates are higher than traditional power suppliers. But, my liberal overlords claim using these companies, while they are more expensive, is better for the greater good and for our planet. Just nuts. 😡
