Well, I use every word from the not at all closely guarded "UN PC 80-s Rude Retort Handbook". But the one that gets the 70+ers is "Oriental". Because they were forbade from saying it as they got to adult age, but it was common (and not wrong) when young. Asians call themselves oriental. I pair it with calling myself an occidental. Mostly I use correct terms for things that are now forbidden - like "his child was born mentally retarded" . Almost all normal language that has now been cast into the hate manhole is in limits. Manhole being totally off limits now. ~Laughs.

We are a most unserious society. I'll say what pleases me.

😹 Love it! I'm sure you were onto the "politically correct" game from the beginning. It took a while for me to recognize it for what it was and go from compliance to rebellion. The kicker was when I started seeing children "correcting" parents and other adults...

I think the PC police began in earnest in the late 80's. At least that is when I noticed it. I also knew I was going to be on the problemed side of it since I have a mouth on me. Then came the business re education camps where if men acted like even polite men (like standing up when a lady entered the meeting room) or a person did nothing at all, but... could! they had to go to the "You are an A-hole" class. Pardon the contracted French.

But it was when about 15 years ago my husband's uncle said "oriental" and I winced. That's when I knew I had crossed over to the dark side. Even if it were just a toe. It was the big toe IMO. So I started using it. There was an SNL skit that mocked the 80's unPCness that was so utterly unfunny and judgy. I think it was ad exec says PC things and audience gets judgy. Or the upwelling of "we love 80's movies , but we can't watch them because they used mean words." I had a very UN PC reaction. It has just gotten worse. A lady I am in a social group with said her daughter gave her a list of things she will not have said in front of her child. I thought "who does this child think she is?" The list was absurd. So was the kid. But the friend studied it and committed it to memory lest she piss off her idiotic child.

Normally, in this club I am in, if people say things they do not like - like rude - they get a warning. So far no warning. I think it is because I laugh when I say them if they are rude. Maybe. Or they like me and give me a pass. Either way the correcting of my language is totally gay. Haha. See? Hard to be utterly PO'd with the additional haha. I snort the haha. Makes all the diff.

This year gloves are off.
