Thank you for your thoughts. I wish all teachers were great at teaching, treated children with respect, did not try to indoctrinate them into socialism, communism, transism - you know the list. And I appreciate the feelings of not wanting to be watched. But how about if it were for your protection as well? Similarly to how it is with police officers who are now required to wear body cams. Some didn't like it at first. NOBODY likes being watched, but it keeps uniformed bad cops from (largely) doing bad acts, but if they do, it is on camera. Conversely, cops being accused of say - shooting an unarmed man (but the body cam shows otherwise, would appreciate the video proof exonerating them. Sub in "teacher or school official" in for cop. Why is it creepy to have interested parents? Do you get creeped out when you have parents come into the class as volunteers? Creeped out when the principal comes in to watch? Do they still do that? I bet you don't. why? Because you are good. I bet sucky ones care.

My wish is that you would see the merit in parents being able to see into the class and there being a record of the day and would stay rather than going to some place where you could remain in secret.

Wait. WAS a teacher or are a teacher? You have both.

well first of all, the schools would not even be able to keep up with the number of complaints and reviewing of videos about so many issues that are not even "woke". then you will need judgement committees for all the problems and what to do about them. no one is going to work for low pay in this scenario that doesn't have to, and those are probably your best teachers. second, it's not even close to the same as body cam on an officer for such obvious reasons I am not spending time to point out. and finally, a camera with parents watching is nothing like being reviewed by the principal who is there to see my lesson plan in action, what objectives are being met, and the principal leaves once my teaching segment is over and doesn't continue to spy on me and my conversations with students all day long day after day. I was a teacher in California years ago at a public high school. i have a master's degree in Education. we can agree to disagree. I would estimate about 5 to 10 percent of the teachers are pushing their woke ideas - the other 90 percent should not be subject to surveillance, and should not be assumed to be democrats pushing an agenda. there are actually plenty of great teachers even in public schools. it needs to start with talking to your own child - educating your own child - preparing your own child - for a woke moment with a woke teacher. I am constantly asking my child for feedback about her teachers. she knows exactly what to look for and what to tell me about. she is 9. she told me, the librarian on the first day said in her introduction, i have two kids, one is non binary and the other is a girl. I have asked my child, does she continue to talk about this? Does she ever bring it up again? no she didn't. just the first day. my child already has a cousin with the same gender issue, so it wasn't new to her. also in her kindergarten class was a boy who wanted to be a girl and was the most popular and adorable student in the class - his parents did not encourage it or allow it but he would always say things like, i want to grow my hair long but my mom won't let me. the dad called him, Little Man when we had play dates at our home with other classmates. great child from a great family.

So red tape is the issue? There needn't be red tape. You know who makes red tape? Labor unions for teachers. Why? They are consistently on the wrong side of every issue. They are NOT for kids AT ALL. They are the ones demanding rubber rooms for terrible or pedo teachers. Can't fire the nasties - OH NO. Teachers are public servants much as police are public servants. I am not seeing the blatant non comparables (cop/school) that make cameras not justifiable in schools.

Does a child who gets quizzed about wokism in school tell her parent every time it is happening? Does she know every instance of indoctrination? That is quite a burden. What did you do re the librarian? If your child reports something horrendous wouldn't you want the video and audio? Or is that creepy? How about kids with parents are not as alert as you?

You and I may disagree, but it is important to hash it out. Maybe in CA in the district you taught in whenever that was - that was the exact halcyon moment in your unified school district where most teachers stuck to the core curriculum and hugs were from caring loving teachers to children in need. I went to elementary thru 7th in LA and in Orange County in the 70's. The age of innocence was well over by then. They were busy teaching America Bad - Vietnam Good. Southerners Racists! I doubt it has gotten better. I could be wrong.

I'll add that the teachers taught out and out lies about Vietnam in the 70's. Later as an adult, I read truth and it shocked me. So how do kids know when they are being fed a load of lies? Do parents force their children to recite every last word of every lesson to test it for its veracity? A camera and recording solves it at least partially.

I did nothing about the Librarian because it was a non issue. She is allowed to say her child is non binary. She never brought up the topic again. My child already knew what this meant because her cousin is gender confused. We don't need to bother the administration and teachers with every single comment made. We can inform our children, educate our children. We can not keep our children in a perfect bubble. We are going to have to accept that some teachers will say, I have a child who was a boy and is now a girl, as part of their introduction. Teachers talk about their pets, their children, the music they like. We can't control teachers every comment, much as we ALL would like to and perhaps think we deserve to simply because we pay taxes.

I don't want to control their every comment. I do want to control their every indoctrination or perversion they put upon kids. And I want parents to know what is going on (good and bad) in their kids class if they so desire. And if something goes sideways between a kid and a teacher, let the video and audio bear witness. I don't believe these things because I merely pay taxes and think I deserve? something. I think them because the world is an evil place with evil kids and the one thing you are bound to do as a parent is to protect your kids and bring them up (if Christian) in the ways of the Lord. If you fail your children for the sake of feelings being hurt, you have failed.
