Yeah, that's a fun post, Citizen. Lots of Kamela kringe, and Alex Jones is correct. Leaving the party while ripping the veil off warmongering Democrats, Tulsi Gabbard is a legitimate hero to less-lunatic Democrats, Independents, and rational Republicans. She would be an amazing VP on her own merits while disarming sexist/racist attacks and DEI talking points. She and Trump would have big-league coattails, ring the death-knell of the Democrat party, and usher in 12 years of an Americans-first agenda.

If Trump chooses a white-male running mate, the ticket will own the white-supremacist label. If Trump chooses a running mate from Florida, somebody must relocate, and the ticket will be accused of rigging the system. Alex and I say, Tulsi for VP. Nothing but upsides to that.

Something tells me Vivek is a little too slick, but I like what he says. He could be a very good VP for Trump. First generation American, right? Those seem to be the most loyal and practical Americans.

Expand full comment
Citizen Satirist (CS)'s avatar

"Something tells me Vivek is a little too slick..." He's Indian - That could be good or very bad... It can really vary... BUT I have to give him the benefit of the doubt... Not so keen on JD Vance as I once heard him say or write to the effect that he was not interested in politics and was suppose to be doing VC type work to help the midwest but now he is in politics after writing a book....... Trump aside (who got into politics after Obama humiliated him at some dinner), I have to wonder if he really made alot of $ outside politics as why would you get into that???

Expand full comment
Reasonable Horses's avatar

Giving the benefit of the doubt is a credit to your character. I do like JD, and I’m only a little wary of Vivek. They both seem smart, sincere, and decent. I figure most people do the best they can between lapses of human nature. On the other hand, career politicians are mostly shameless and incapable of humility. I like a thoughtful, passably qualified citizen jumping into politics with an attitude like, “Somebody has to do something!” JD and MTG might fit that profile. Behind the msm ridicule, she can make sense. I can imagine Obama’s ridicule triggering Trump into running. He’s obviously driven to win, and he thrives on a challenge. I hope the beating he’s endured stokes his fire and humbles him a little bit.

Her support for Bernie turned me off, but she’s no flake. She did challenge Dem’s plan to attack Syria, and it cost her. In her own words, “War is justified when it is in the best interest of our national security, and when it is the last resort, when all diplomatic efforts have been completed and exhausted and war is the last possible route that must be taken to ensure the safety, security, and freedom of the American people.” https://lexfridman.com/tulsi-gabbard-transcript

Pulling out of nuclear treaties was not a great move. Russia scaled up hypersonic missiles, and we depend on China for things needed to make anything to even be able to closely counter what the Russians are doing. Trump also created worse relations with China, which Biden seems to be worsening by driving Russia and China closer...we are not looking good unless we have some major drawdowns and mind our own business...

I can usually only handle about 10 seconds of stupid. But I watched the whole revolting thing and noticed the hand movements...always the right hand up in the air first , sometimes looking upwards (towards what, we do not know because surely she's not a believer), then the last part of it with the left left arm and hand motioning downwards. She has apparently practiced this screed a lot with a variety of whiny, nasal vocal inflections so it will appear different each time. Not.

This catch-phrase, spoken by her as a kind of talisman, is so over-used by her that its lost for most of us any ability to generate satire, since it is self-mocking when SHE says it at this point. The sad thing is that this phrase is NOT nonsensical. There is a deeply evil message that is masquerading in this pseudo-wisdom.

"I can imagine what can be, unburdened by what has been" when you boil it down means what is imagined and what desired doesn't have to reference anything that frames our culture. No law, no constitution, no tradition, no cultural norm, no moral norms, NOTHING has to frame what we imagine. This is Marxist ideology. Destabilize the family, and attack the culture and create dependency on the only island of stability you can see, the authoritarian regime..

Being burdened by what has been is the greatest gift we live with. We should keep mocking this tom-foolery, and we should speak against it.

Expand full comment
Fla Mom's avatar

I am NOT a kamala supporter by any means, but obviously the way they mean it is as unburdened by the mistakes/racism/oppression etc of the past, kind of like "some men see things as they are, I see things that never were and asky why not".... etc. but it's so meaningless that it can be easily abused and interpreted however the speaker - or the listener - wants. Laughable as a stock phrase by her.

Expand full comment
Angus McPherson's avatar

I agree that they want us, or assume that we will, think they mean "unburdened by the mistakes/racism/Oppression" and when I first heard it that is where my mind went.

When I think about it though, I have concluded that we MUST be burdened by the mistakes/racism/oppression. If we are not, we won't learn from them. In a sense, the post modern aggrievement culture with its perpetual victimhood persists because these "victims" have to be unburdened by the past, since their current experience is NOTHING like their ancestors experiences. The oppression of Jim Crow, and trauma of slavery , the demoralization of living through a pogrom. We will be right back there if we are unburdened by the realities of this very real history. So we need to be burdened by all that. We must learn from our mistakes.

IF we don't , we become easy prey for the authoritarian regimes.
