Good catch. Both, actually. (I'll edit my comment to clarify the point).

How do you get over the memory of that? Hope you’ve rebuilt and/or relocated?

We rebuilt our house on the same spot. We improved upon it, lowering the foundation, building a stronger frame and using steel siding (like a barndominium). Whether it's impervious to another tornado or bad storm remains to be seen.

Although you never quite get over it, you find yourself looking for the message. In my case (and my wife would say the same thing), the experience taught me some needed life lessons about gratitude, appreciation, and true faith.

I strongly recommend to everyone to take a video inventory of your possessions - walk around the house and film everything - and store the video on a USB stick and in a cloud. You never know what fate may bring and you have to create a personal property inventory for an insurance claim. We were lucky because our insurance company worked with us.

Thank you, good advice. So happy you were able to rebuild better and gain some things like gratitude too. I have photos and videos of everything, just on the cloud though, will do a USB too.

What a story. Thank you for sharing your lessons learned with us. I wonder what it was like reading the Book of Job after going through that.
