A shout out to my uncle Ralph Heimdahl who was one of the creators of Bugs Bunny. 👏🏻

That’s wonderful to hear 🙂 Bugs Bunny is one of the best characters ever, imo 😍 I love his resourcefulness and bravado 😁 Some of the funniest scenarios and repartee of all time!

My dad Finn Heimdahl was his younger brother, one of 7 siblings. Ralph had lots of nephews & nieces & he drew each one of us a framable personal Bugs Bunny cartoon. He also did a pencil sketch of me when I was about 8 yo. Treasures, for sure!!

Awww, I thought it was intentional, a tribute to Bugs Bunny calling someone a 'maroon' instead of 'moron.' Which I will sometimes do in my best Bugs Bunny (Mel Blanc) voice.

'Yeah, that's it, that's the ticket, I meant baffoon' - in my The Liar (Jon Lovitz) voice.

I thought a maroon was something else? Not a mispronounced moron?

Bugs Bunny. Cartoon. Intentionally mispronounced for comedic effect. ;)

I’m very familiar with Bugs Bunny, I can quote some of the cartoons by heart 😛 He uses a lot of mispronounced words for comedic effect (like ignoranimus) so that’s certainly possible (though it seems like that happened more with longer words). But I wonder if there could be a double meaning too, as that was a hallmark of those cartoons. I couldn’t find any evidence substantiating any particular interpretation.

I only commented because I'm seeing this misspelling increasing.

Enjoy your comments.

Plus buffoon is such a wonderful word, with the images it evokes. Somehow the word actually sounds like the people it describes; ridiculous, full of themselves, and absurd all at once. Just a gem of a epithet, it deserves to be spelled correctly.

I wonder if people don't know there is an edit option in those 3 little dots on the right side of their comment? I will go in and correct mine 99% of the time.

Same! More often than not I type too quickly and don’t see the error (sometimes it’s autocorrect, sometimes my finger just slips) until just as I am hitting the “post” button 🙄

Same here and often it’s too difficult to find the comment to edit in the hundreds of comments posted every day so I let it go! 😏
