I believe that. There are are lot of free thinkers in Oregon but why the disconnect with the Covid shot and lockdowns and mandates? It seems far too many in the valley, and even over here in Central Oregon were happy to roll up their sleeves for grandma and the good of the people. They masked in Whole Foods, to the point of acting like Nazi’s if one didn’t. They bragged about their fully vaccinated Thanksgivings. They called the unvaccinated dirty swines. They thought Kate Brown was doing a good job with the pandemic.

The disconnect was baffling to me, a life-long Oregonian. Note, I’m an artist so my circle has more than it’s share of covidians, which while puzzling to me, it saw a lot of shot-lovers. Maybe because they’ve never had to run a real business, they’ve always worked for woke corporations and taught school, who knows. They are true liberals. So, back to my original question, why were they so eager to take the shot?

Not sure, but it is a conundrum.

One of the differences here is that the state govt did not tread TOO heavily. Other states, with the same mandates as OR, imposed harsh penalties and used LE in shocking ways against the people. Conversely, enforcement here was lax or absent. I think they knew they’d better not push it too far. And, they concentrated efforts in crazy Portland (enabling mayhem).

Pretty smart move. We have guns and big trucks. We pretty much set an imaginary cordon & contained toxic Portland like sacks circling an oil spill. I live not 40 minutes away & haven’t been there since early 2020. No plans to visit either.

So, to your question? Especially the artists and indie types which abound here? It is, I think, because it was THEIR people in the govt.

and THEY’re good! So… Also it’s THEIR experts, THEIR bloggers and in-the-know podcasters either they or someone of influence listens to. There’s more, but I’ll leave it there.

I am so happy to know so many fellow Oregonians are here!! Thank you, Jeff! And thanks fellow Oregon goofballs for weighing in. We need an Oregon chapter of

C & C peeps to meet someplace for — what else?

…Picnic at Champoeg? Smith Rock?

I agree with what you said especially about the libs who voted for ‘their people’. Although here some businesses were fined for not following protocols like masks. Some lost their suits, some won. Not sure if there’s any news of cases. I think it was OSHA that levied the fines.

I would love to come to a C&C picnic in Champoeg!!! How can we organize it?

Smith Rock would be even better for me 😉 but I think most people are in or near the valley 🤷‍♀️

I missed it also, and it would be interesting to meet fellow C&C readers.

Much like the Rush rooms of old.

I did not get the organizing gene, so I hope someone who did takes this on! (But, the DIS-organizing gene…!)
