She absolutely is incompetent or she would not have trotted out the sloped roof excuse. Anyone with half a brain would have known not to say that.

Corrupt and incompetent aren't mutually exclusive, in fact it's often the norm.

Not staged, but it sure seems that they did allow it to happen (that many 'mistakes' are statistically impossible), which means treason on the part of Mayorkas, Cheattle, and the "team" leadership.

I interpreted staged to mean not that the event was fake, but that they "staged" the security to deliberately make Trump vulnerable.

We would be in a civil war.

I suspect that is the point: civil war where the progs crack down on any red dissident and install permanent martial law to "save democracy." Think covid, but with FEMA Camps.

It would be an astounding coincidence if the security just happened to have multiple lapses at the same event where a shooter just happened to turn up.

Heard in another article that there were more attackers than just that one guy, saying that one guy was actually on the water tower. They said more shots rang out besides his... It wasn't just a confused patsy of a lone gunman per their theories. I believe I saw it briefly on YouTube from someone who says they are special forces military, but since I am at work, will not be able to look that up and provide the link.

The whole world is a stage and we mere actors upon it. And most people will not be able to tell you the plot to the play. A sad stage of affairs.

daverkb, add to that the whole world lives in a dreamworld of each one's own making, according to one's desires and aversions. Sadly there are very few who want to know the truth.

From around 2008 to 2013 I was politically active and locally a known person. I was the Constitution Party but I had a lot of involvement with the Republican Party in three counties and some others elsewhere. I got to know these people and how and what they thought ... and please recall that things were relatively tame back then compared to 2016 and thereafter. Carrying over the experience which I gained during this period of activity I realized that in watching the 2024 Republican National Convention that about eighty to ninety percent of the people attending the convention probably had no clue as to how they were being gaslighted given the very recent orchestrated event in Pennsylvania. Looking at the spectacle, it was as though I was watching little kids of Romper Room age strutting around in their parents oversized clothing. In short, I think reality died a long time ago.

So, when you say 'dreamworld', it registers with uncommon vividness.

The problem is that to get even close, one has to study all phases, facets of Human Action (to borrow from von Mises who wrote a book of that title). And then there are layers in the chain of command, and various factions ... and factions within factions. And most of the cast of actors are the visible front men and women. The one's really moving things are hidden. One might feel their presence, but never see the prime movers. And one in not suppose to know from where, from what hands real power flows. And of this, I am speaking primarily of the Collective West.

My best guess by observation is that power structures out side the Collective West/Five Eyes sphere and sphere of influence in certain countries like Russia, India and China are a bit more straight forward.

But what do I know? And a lot of it is just guessing. And guessing by shifts detected.

I think she's potentially an agent of the regime's propaganda machine as well as an important enabler.

Propaganda is more effective the more unbelievable the "fact" stated is. It's control impact is most effective when everyone knows it's utter bull but nobody can stop it or make them quit saying it.

The slope was unsafe fits that perfectly.

They were never given talking points for the possibility that their engineered sabotage would fail.

Edit: It might be that they did have a plan for the possibility of failure. They may have been willing to throw Cheatle and her ilk under the bus for the sake of provoking a reaction from the populace that they can then manage with more globalist technocratic tyranny.

It’s not sure the ludicrous excuse was incompetent.

They are now SO brazen that maybe it’s just an expression of how immune they feel to all & any accountability. They trot out SO much BS & just shrug - they don’t care whether they’re believed, they just intend to get away with it.

They knew “mostly peaceful protests” was a ludicrous lie.

They knew the “cases” against President Trump were absurd.

Same for “gender affirming care”, “social distancing”.

And on & on.

They just don’t care.

They’re like Stalin announcing a wonderful harvest in the middle of a famine.

That’s not incompetence.

It’s an expression of a feeling of being untouchable.

Despots usually get their come-uppance.
