May the Lord stop every attempt at evil. May He cause every voting system to work correctly in spite of tampering. May He quell any violence or other upheaval by silencing and disarming those so inclined. May He pour out His Spirit on our nation to cleanse and transform for the glory of His mighty name. And may we walk in His peace that passes understanding, in His love that heals wounded hearts and points lost souls to Him, and in His power that enables us to influence our neighbors and our nation for His kingdom. In Jesus’ name.

Amen! And seeing all of these believers assembled here reminds me of yesterday evening when at the 6:00 hour, millions of believers joined in prayer for our nation. It was an honor and privilege to be a part of that massive gathering whose voices were lifted to heaven. The Church on earth prayed and God heard our prayers.

And again I say Amen!

"And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and much incense was given to him, so that he might add it to the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense went up with the prayers of the saints, out of the angel’s hand, before God. Then the angel took the censer and filled it with the fire of the altar, and threw it to the earth; and there followed peals of thunder and sounds and flashes of lightning and an earthquake." - Revelation 8:3-5 LSB

I don't like that 'fire and throwing and thunder and earthquakes at all'. But if it comes from the Ring being destroyed in Mount Doom, and Sauron's tower of Barad Dur being thrown down, and he being turned into a shadowy cloud and blown away on the winds, and all his orcs go mad and kill themselves: well then I could go along with that. I'll wait and see.

Funny true story. A week or so ago we were at a family birthday party for a ten year old. After dinner we were set to cut the cake. Afterward someone said a new tradition has been added we’re going to sing that at every birthday celebration. ā¤ļø

Todd is fulfilling prophecy. "Scoffers will come in the last days." We can only pray that he and his ilk be given eyes to see, ears to hear, and hearts to obey.

Todd's gnosticism is as old as the garden. The gnostic believes that the serpent (or brazen one) in the garden was doing mankind a favor. This is the lie: ". . . you will be like God." We can only pray that he and his ilk be given eyes to see, ears to hear, and hearts to obey.

The easiest refutation of this was best said by Paul in 1 Corinthians 2:2: "For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified." This is the solution for sin and man's sinful nature. God gave His Son not only for forgiveness, but also for mankind to have liberty from the slavery to our flesh.

And this is my testimony: I had once been subject to proclivities of the flesh, that the best and brightest unbelievers would say could not be overcome. These would say that I was simply wired that way, and there was no solution beyond imprisonment or ultimately death. And yet, here I am, delivered from these things. I need only say "Your will, and not mine be done" and remember the words of John 3:16:

ā€œFor God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.ā€

What is so difficult to comprehend about the situation where the One perfect and innocent One took upon Himself the debt owed by YOU (and me and the rest of us) for your own crimes and arranged for Himself to be sentenced to death as the payment for YOUR (and mine and everyone else's) sentence instead of YOU paying that price?

The debt/punishment was owed and has been. YOU could not pay it, So Jesus stepped up to the plate and took the hit for YOU. Now YOUR debt is paid.. IF you can acknowledge that Jesus has indeed paid YOUR debt. Unless you think you are perfect, never once in all your born days did anything the slightest bit wrong, evil, unfair, unkind, selfish, hurtful to another.....

Tio, I am very well aware of this theology. What is difficult to comprehend? Substitutionary Atonement. This goes directly back to the Old Testament practice of sacrificing an animal for the sins of the Jewish people. For me that is offensive, primitive, superstitious. To then take that practice and lay it onto Jesus of Nazareth in order to explain his significance and purpose. That dog just don't hunt for me.

Expand full comment
Susan Clack's avatar

I can appreciate your dilemma--I found a book by Dr. Richard Booker that breaks down that concept of substitutionary sacrifice and really taught me more about the COVENANT that God made with not just Abraham, but HIMSELF to be the Sacrifice and the Atonement for all of humanity, once & for all. A very interesting book!

It's called "The Miracle of the Scarlet Thread" and its subtitle is "Revealing the Power of the Blood of Jesus from Genesis to Revelation ".

I highly recommend it! It gave me so much more insight into Covenant and Atonement!

He laid down His life. Nobody took it from Him. He glorified His Father by His obedience. His Father glorifies Him FOR His obedience. In this, He is an example to us of obedience.

In turning to Him to do His will, we can be in fellowship with Him. One does this more and more continuously the longer one is in the faith.

Tio Nico's avatar

Fine.. but THIS is precisely why the bible you so despise clearly states, centuries before the ultimate sacrifice was made, that the blood of bulls and goats was not effective, but WAS a type and shadow of the One True Sacrifice that was yet to come. But here's the real rub: after that one perfect sacrifice was made, the entire Jewish system was utterly destroyed and the reality to which those sacrifices pointed DID effectively pay the debt due. The One Perfect and True sacrifice, that of Jesus, did take care of the deb.. but only for those who will first see their need, then accept that offer of attonement, then be able to walk free of that debt that could never be paid out of their own merit or strength.

You might deny it and/or refuse to acknowledge it, but that dog DO hunt.. for YOU. Sooner or later that "dog" may just catch up to you. Whether you admit it now or not. I know I walked in your moccasins for several decades. That "dog" finally quit "hunting" for me. It caught up to me. And here I am.

Expand full comment
FGB3's avatar

Expand full comment
Tio Nico's avatar

if you did not 'despise" that Book you would accept what it says and govern yourself accordingly.

I am not trying to make you think a certain way, I am only trying to point out the plain fact that you already think a certain way, a way that is contrary to what is in that Book.

Jesus put it very simply: "he who is not WITH Me is AGAINST Me." And Bob Dylan put it this way in one of his songs: "you must pick one or the other, there ain't NO neutral ground".

Yeah yeah, "information" is everywhere. The REAL question is this: IS it true, and HOW can we KNOW it is?

Funny little anecdote: Back when God had punished Israel by having her taken away captive to a nation called Babylon, a horrid and godless people, as slaves. After a while God predicted that He would arrange for His people to go free, and be able to returj to their native land, Israel. The King of Babylon a guy named Artaxerxes, decided to se Israel freen and signed an edict giving them their freedom to return to their homeland so that they could rebuild the ruins, and restore the Temple that had been heavily damaged. He signed and daed the order. And Israel gathered herself together and went back to Israel to rebuild. . All this is recorded in the first Testament of what we call the bible today.

Funny thing, the Brit archaelogists were mocking the Christians over his for a couple centuries, as they could find o writings outside of the Bible/Old Testament that backed this up. Surely, if a king if a great nation, Babylon really had done these things they (the Brit archaeologists) would certainly have some wrien record of all this. So they mocked and scorned those who believed in the biblical account.

Well, funny thing happened back along the Road to Reality. Some Brit diggers had been excavating what they took to be the ruins of a huge official building in what they believed was old Babylon. After a few decades of digging they still could not even find any mention of this king's name, Artaxerxes. So the whole biblical account MUST be a fairy tale. They mocked even further the "People of the Book",asserting they were fools to believe this inaccurate text.

Well, as "luck" would have it, that team eventually discovered an opening in the floor of this huge government building which they eventually determined was to an entirely undiscovered lowere flor. Large wide halls, rooms off both sides, some having large collections of huge earthenware jugs with lids closing them up.What'sIN them? Documents. los of them. Great.. no one reads bablyonian. Some experts at ancient languages came in.. that's ancient babylonian. they took some back to examine. After a RATHER long time someone leaked the contents of one of them. It was a copy of the very letter that King Artaxerxes had written and signed, ordering the Israelites to be released and to go back home and rebuild their damaged city. It had the mark and seal of that King Artaxerxes, the very guy the Brits had declared was a figment of the imaginations of all these bible believing folk. It also gave the date, in the Babylonian calendar, the king drafted and signed the order.

OOOOPPPPPpppsssss.... from the whole thing is a figment of the imaginations of these bible believing folk to he very document descrbed in that old book (the bible) fully supporting the text of that book. Hmmm.. nice work there.

So that bible is a figment of some religious nuts'a=overactive imagination? Then HOW and WHY did this text, fully corroborating the claim of the bible nuts, and "lost" for a few milennia, somehow manage to surface and fully PROVE that bibilcal account tens of centuries later is fully accurate?

How quaint.....

Total garbage. Aren't we human's the most ignorant to believe that WE know who and what "GOD" is? The 'fairy tale' adjective is a new one. The 'spaghetti monster' didn't convince enough. I guess. šŸ˜‰

The thing with the neo atheists is the desire to insult others, in hopes that others will become like them.

The old world atheists were intellectuals and philosophers who respected those of faith, though not believing themselves.

I had respect for them, having met a few.

I have no respect for the atheists who mock believers.

Anyway, this is a demonic diversion to remove the power of our peaceful souls in prayer.

So God bless.

If you have no allegiance to the Creator God of the Bible then your God is you and the inventor of all religions that please us. Yes every religion is one of man's own making. There are billions of gods and they are many known to us. But none are worth the worship but One. To know Him is to love Him back. What if you knew God who would die for you? Exactly. 2020 was an actual coup and the NeoCons took control of the entire USG via the Marxist Democratic Party. They installed a puppet with an even more brain-addled VP and they DO NOT want to give up control. President Biden does not make any decisions. He's a puppet. My fear is that they will play their "trump card" by getting the USG involved in a direct conflict with Russia via either Ukraine or the Middle East (yes, Russia is committed to allies in the ME). The NeoCons will do this via a false flag event which they will create.

"...Musk may also wear deep-state armor..." There is a volume of foreboding meaning in that statement. Jeff sent shivers down my spine with his description of Musk's "STARSHIELD" which SpaceX is building for the DoD giving the USG/DoD/CIA/Neocons the ability "to quickly spot potential targets almost anywhere on the globe." With the roll-out of 5G during the plandemic lockdowns, the roll-out of the nano-tech with the deployment of the bio-weapon and the blanket usage of cell phones by the population, their tracking and "targeting" ability will be real-time right down to the individual.

Do you really think the DoD neocons will be tracking pedophiles and PizzaGate targets???
