Lord Jesus, we pray for our nation and the world today.

Words Beyond Me-Janice Powell's avatar

May the Lord stop every attempt at evil. May He cause every voting system to work correctly in spite of tampering. May He quell any violence or other upheaval by silencing and disarming those so inclined. May He pour out His Spirit on our nation to cleanse and transform for the glory of His mighty name. And may we walk in His peace that passes understanding, in His love that heals wounded hearts and points lost souls to Him, and in His power that enables us to influence our neighbors and our nation for His kingdom. In Jesus’ name.

Freebird's avatar

Amen! And seeing all of these believers assembled here reminds me of yesterday evening when at the 6:00 hour, millions of believers joined in prayer for our nation. It was an honor and privilege to be a part of that massive gathering whose voices were lifted to heaven. The Church on earth prayed and God heard our prayers.

And again I say Amen!

AngelaK's avatar

Yes! From 6 to 6:05, I prayed fervently and knew that my soul was united in prayer with millions of believers.

RunningLogic's avatar

I prayed too!! I set an alarm so I wouldn’t miss it!

"And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and much incense was given to him, so that he might add it to the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense went up with the prayers of the saints, out of the angel’s hand, before God. Then the angel took the censer and filled it with the fire of the altar, and threw it to the earth; and there followed peals of thunder and sounds and flashes of lightning and an earthquake." - Revelation 8:3-5 LSB

FGB3's avatar

I don't like that 'fire and throwing and thunder and earthquakes at all'. But if it comes from the Ring being destroyed in Mount Doom, and Sauron's tower of Barad Dur being thrown down, and he being turned into a shadowy cloud and blown away on the winds, and all his orcs go mad and kill themselves: well then I could go along with that. I'll wait and see.

God bless America, land that I love,

Stand beside her and guide her

Through the night with a light from above.

From the mountains, to the prairies,

To the oceans white with foam,

God bless America,

My home sweet home.

This just made tears well up!

Funny true story. A week or so ago we were at a family birthday party for a ten year old. After dinner we were set to cut the cake. After a rousing round of Happy Birthday someone broke out in song God Bless America. Everyone at the party joined in the song. Afterward someone said a new tradition has been added we’re going to sing that at every birthday celebration. ❀️

Nancy Benedict's avatar

My grandson was recently playing a district soccer game. When the national anthem was played, the announcer asked everyone to join in. One young girl started singing and halfway through, I decided not to let her sing alone and robustly joined in. Immediately many around us began to loudly finish the anthem. Patriotism is contagious.

J Walker's avatar

What a wonderful idea and modeling Patriotism for future generations.

Sunnydaze's avatar

Me too! I was sitting out back this morning and that’s the song God put on my heart. I started singing it and decided to share it. ❀️

Words Beyond Me-Janice Powell's avatar

I’m going to spend some time at my piano later today playing and singing! We will see if I can get through it without choking up. Thanks for reminding us of those timeless, beautiful words.

Marty Kiner's avatar

I can never get through a patriotic song nor a Christmas song without tears. It’s embarrassing in some situations 😊

Karmy's avatar

You are not alone Marty!

J Walker's avatar

Don't be embarrassed. We need more tender hearts like yours.

Marty, tear away. screw embarrassment.

I like to think it's the Holy Spirit flooding you with God's LOVE!! Heck. I still cry at the Anthem at football games. Something about 60,000 Americans, in one place, still respecting our country that gets to me. I have been humbly praying throughout yesterday, the night. and this morning.

Praying for God's mercy on this country founded on Him. Satan, through his spiritually clueless and deluded disciples, is jealous and wants this country for himself.

We still have so many people of faith in our country, and we are fighting this battle through the one weapon, the strongest weapon which THEY don't have: prayer.

Yahweh is righteous in all His ways

And holy in all His works.

Yahweh is near to all who call upon Him,

To all who call upon Him in truth.

He will work out the desire of those who fear Him;

He will hear their cry for help and He will save them.

Yahweh keeps all who love Him,

But all the wicked He will destroy.

Anne Clifton's avatar

That's blasphemy, Todd, but we still have first amendment freedom of speech here, so blaspheme away.

Tom's avatar

Todd is fulfilling prophecy. "Scoffers will come in the last days." We can only pray that he and his ilk be given eyes to see, ears to hear, and hearts to obey.

Todd's gnosticism is as old as the garden. The gnostic believes that the serpent (or brazen one) in the garden was doing mankind a favor. This is the lie: ". . . you will be like God." We can only pray that he and his ilk be given eyes to see, ears to hear, and hearts to obey.

The easiest refutation of this was best said by Paul in 1 Corinthians 2:2: "For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified." This is the solution for sin and man's sinful nature. God gave His Son not only for forgiveness, but also for mankind to have liberty from the slavery to our flesh.

And this is my testimony: I had once been subject to proclivities of the flesh, that the best and brightest unbelievers would say could not be overcome. These would say that I was simply wired that way, and there was no solution beyond imprisonment or ultimately death. And yet, here I am, delivered from these things. I need only say "Your will, and not mine be done" and remember the words of John 3:16:

β€œFor God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.”

Atonement Theology is still...STILL...my stumbling block with Jesus. I'm studying and praying about it. Currently reading one of the great Christian apologists, G.K. Chesterton's The Everlasting Man.

Tio Nico's avatar

What is so difficult to comprehend about the situation where the One perfect and innocent One took upon Himself the debt owed by YOU (and me and the rest of us) for your own crimes and arranged for Himself to be sentenced to death as the payment for YOUR (and mine and everyone else's) sentence instead of YOU paying that price?

The debt/punishment was owed and has been. YOU could not pay it, So Jesus stepped up to the plate and took the hit for YOU. Now YOUR debt is paid.. IF you can acknowledge that Jesus has indeed paid YOUR debt. Unless you think you are perfect, never once in all your born days did anything the slightest bit wrong, evil, unfair, unkind, selfish, hurtful to another.....

Robin Greer's avatar

This would be one of those "don't cast pearls before swine" but I guess even Nebuchadnezzar was humbled as was Manasseh who was one of the worst kings in Israel. And let's not forget Paul who persecuted Christians to their death until he met Christ on the road to Damascus.

Words Beyond Me-Janice Powell's avatar

Everyone will have a β€œmeet Christ” moment, but not all will be saved. Every knee will bow!!

Robin Greer's avatar

As long as they have breath, there's a chance to repent.

Guy White's avatar

Well said Anne... First Amendment, free speech (including offensive and hateful remarks) and its connection to that incredible gift of God, our free will... reminds me of this wisdom:

β€œThere are only two kinds of people in the end: those who say to God, "Thy will be done," and those to whom God says, in the end, "Thy will be done." All that are in Hell, choose it. Without that self-choice there could be no Hell. No soul that seriously and constantly desires joy will ever miss it. Those who seek find. To those who knock it is opened.”

- C.S. Lewis, The Great Divorce

Guy, I've had a lot of experience with my brother, who claims to be an atheist. After twenty years of harassment, he finally estranged himself from me and life is much easier.

Keith Jajko's avatar

Exactly the scenario with my brother. Erasing his miserable attitude has made my life so much better. All you can do is pray for these people.

Janet's avatar

I have a sister. All I can do is pray for her.

Guy White's avatar

β€œThe god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4‬:‭4‬ ‭(NIV‬‬) I too, was once blind, but now I see! So we must never stop praying for the lost, but we don’t have to let them make us miserable. Or tolerate their insults. Todd included.

CStone's avatar

I knew satan would show up today. The idiot who challenged his creator is NOT very……well…..creative. Or intelligent. Actually comes off rather toddler-like.

It’s actually very encouraging to see these two β€˜entities’ exposing how stupid they actually are. Comical, really. Always trying to use fear and intimidation to make us worry and fret, then when they show up? They got nothing. They’re just…….little, impotent slugs. I can’t stop smiling, that they are exposing themselves so blatantly.

Tom's avatar

Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28 tell of the fate of the adversary. It's beyond unpleasant.

We can only pray that many will be given eyes to see, ears to hear, and hearts to obey, in God's mercy for those who would worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.

Otherwise:

Psalm 2:4 (ESV)

"He who sits in the heavens laughs;

the Lord holds them in derision."

Agree completely regarding free speech - everyone should get to say and think what they want to think. I just find people who come here and do the equivalent of showing up in someone's home and insulting the host a strange flex. But, sure, have at it, Todd. It says more about you than it does us.

Thank you for the vitriol! It is a great joy as a follower of Jesus to be treated in the same way as our savior. Anne Clifton's avatar

Kent, the implications of Christianity not being true are not as bad for us as the implications of it being true are for you.

Tom's avatar

Game theory! The finite "game" vs the "infinite game." From Isaiah 1:18: "Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord"

He put me in a headlock and held my eyelids open to see many things before I believed. This was one of a great many things I had to accept.

FGB3's avatar

It is so hard to be twisted to 180Β° from our thinking to God's but thats how we know we aren't God. I guess you're very in control of your life and others and comfortably so otherwise you would acknowledge the truth about who you are. Then if you could be wise enough to see the difference between God Himself and those who claim to know Him then you might really be able to see Truth. God and His professors aren't the same persons or personalities but He works with us anyway. It's His way of showing love, patience, long-suffering, with stupidity.

Kent's avatar

Total garbage. Aren't we human's the most ignorant to believe that WE know who and what "GOD" is? AngelaK's avatar

The 'fairy tale' adjective is a new one. The 'spaghetti monster' didn't convince enough. I guess. πŸ˜‰

The thing with the neo atheists is the desire to insult others, in hopes that others will become like them.

The old world atheists were intellectuals and philosophers who respected those of faith, though not believing themselves.

I had respect for them, having met a few.

I have no respect for the atheists who mock believers.

Anyway, this is a demonic diversion to remove the power of our peaceful souls in prayer.

So God bless.

I think you are right to be skeptical. You are right to think that many claim to know and do not, just like you claim wisdom but how did you get so smart? Who told you there is no God? I can't for any reason understand what the Twin Towers has to do with this. God's interest in the nations, I guess. It depends on which God you believe in. If you have no allegiance to the Creator God of the Bible then your God is you and the inventor of all religions that please us. Yes every religion is one of man's own making. Substitutional Atonement freely given is the only religion that man cannot understand and would not create.

The invisible and the nonexistent look very much alike.

Teresa Carstensen's avatar

Well actually, I have to say that I KNOW there is more to reality than what we normally experience with our human senses...and that a comforting, living "fire" of love is a fairly apt descriptor of the Holy Spirit, Who is humanly impossible to fully describe.

I accidentally paid the yearly last year in December. It was $500 that I wasn’t really wanting to spend but could afford to β€œlose” at the time. That said I have truly enjoyed this entire year of weekly Sunday bonus posts and the feeling that I have contributed to this outstanding community of awesome folks whose views I hold dear and enjoy sharing every day. I haven’t decided if I’m re-upping for next year or simply going monthly but I will say that I have found it to be a worthy cause.

Totally onboard for a C&C multiplier!

Genius idea Sally

I think I would feel even better about this one than all the others.

Do it!!!!!

From Aaron Siri - AstraZeneca vax injury case

Breaking and incredible news: In our case for @BrianneDressen's C19 vaccine injury, AstraZeneca’s motion to dismiss was just denied by the Court. An incredible, thoughtful, well-reasoned decision by Chief United States District Judge Robert Shelby. Excellent job at oral argument by our firm partner @michaelpconnett. Congrats Bri on your first step towards justice.

Aaron is amazing, smart as a whip and using the system (that they rigged) against them. His deposition of ghoul Stanley Plotkin ("the father of vaccines") was unbelievable in how Plotkin reveled in his disdain for common people. He all but said you need to break a few eggs to make an omelet. Just like all of them, he is a smug Bolshevik at heart.

I get the distinct impression the whole, corrupt system is teetering and just needs one solid kick to bring it down. God willing Trump meant it when he embraced RFK Jr's agenda regarding American's health.

Joanne Shannon's avatar

For 19 years Kennedy has said the same prayer. He asked God to put him in a position where he could end the chronic disease epidemic and bring health back to our children.

Double Mc's avatar

Please, God, let that kick be coming soon.

RunningLogic's avatar

Yes, I feel the same. Agree with your assessment.

My prayer as well. I know what my will is, but ultimately I want God's will done and it will be.

Isaiah 55:8 β€œFor my thoughts are not your thoughts,

neither are your ways my ways,”

declares the Lord.

9 β€œAs the heavens are higher than the earth,

so are my ways higher than your ways

and my thoughts than your thoughts.

10 As the rain and the snow

come down from heaven,

and do not return to it

without watering the earth

and making it bud and flourish,

so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,

11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth:

It will not return to me empty,

but will accomplish what I desire

and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

The Democrat Party is unrecognizable these days. Can it even be considered democratic? πŸ˜‚

There are a lot of reasonable, intelligent and logical people who have become ostracized by the extremists within their party. It is understandable that those who became disenchanted with the dems never thought they’d identify with the republican platform. I find the extremism disturbing because it seems to stem from pride and perverse self indulgence.

KATHERINE JERNIGAN's avatar

Reagan brought me over. Ok. I’m kinda old. But I agree that the last 4 years have changed me in many ways too. Now a never again vaxxer. Used to believe in the goodness of the USA. We have been lied to my entire life! Sure hope our prayers and petitions to our loving Lord will be heard this night and the tide of evil will be turned back to the light! Lord, thy will be done. πŸ™

Loved how today’s C&C started with the positives!

I’m making a conscious effort to be at peace today, for myself and my kids. We are taking the day off schoolwork and doing activities we enjoy (I’m going to garden!). I even caved and have Christmas music playing (truly our happy place πŸ˜‚)

We’ve done what we can do.

Nothing I read or hear today can change that.

So.

Waiting waiting waiting.

Planting flowers.

After we go submit our Election Day in person vote and take a cute lil girl to swim lessons we shall spend the afternoon picking apples and making pies and applesauce and then head to karate with a cute lil fella! Perfect Election Day for me and mine! All positive and fun! πŸ™πŸ˜πŸ‘

Reminds me of the hymn, "This is my Father's world":

This is my Father's world:

The birds their carols raise,

The morning light, the lily white,

Declare their Maker's praise.

This is my Father's world:

He shines in all that's fair;

In the rustling grass I hear Him pass,

He speaks to me everywhere.

Janet's avatar

One of my favorites. He indeed speaks to me and calms me out where I walk. I’m especially calm and joyful today. Blessings to all!!!

Oh my goodness, we have caved on the Christmas music too since it brings such joy and silly singing! Happy gardening! I hope to get out there too as well as boost our chickens' space to ready it for winter.

Exactly. 2020 was an actual coup and the NeoCons took control of the entire USG via the Marxist Democratic Party. They installed a puppet with an even more brain-addled VP and they DO NOT want to give up control. President Biden does not make any decisions. He's a puppet. My fear is that they will play their "trump card" by getting the USG involved in a direct conflict with Russia via either Ukraine or the Middle East (yes, Russia is committed to allies in the ME). The NeoCons will do this via a false flag event which they will create.

"...Musk may also wear deep-state armor..." There is a volume of foreboding meaning in that statement. Jeff sent shivers down my spine with his description of Musk's "STARSHIELD" which SpaceX is building for the DoD giving the USG/DoD/CIA/Neocons the ability "to quickly spot potential targets almost anywhere on the globe." With the roll-out of 5G during the plandemic lockdowns, the roll-out of the nano-tech with the deployment of the bio-weapon and the blanket usage of cell phones by the population, their tracking and "targeting" ability will be real-time right down to the individual.

Do you really think the DoD neocons will be tracking pedophiles and PizzaGate targets???

Leo's avatar

It all depends on who is president.
