I encourage everyone to download the EarlyVoteAction app and pitch in writing postcards. I've been doing this since last year. Currently I'm writing to Bucks county PA residents trying to get them to register republican. There are 3 counties in PA that Scott is close to flipping red. It's so easy to write the postcards - they even tell you exactly what to write. Can you pitch in and do 5? I am doing 10 per day.
Sheryl, I downloaded the app. Do you 'take responsibility' for certain names? How does it work, exactly? A brief explanatory page would be helpful, but I don't see one. I don't see what one is supposed to say, either. And in the 'Send Postcards' section, when you select a name, it gives two options, 'Next' and 'Text.' Why? You just get another name when you click 'Next.' And Text is another category, anyway.
The "text" button once you have a name and address showing gives you the text to write on your card. I suggest writing it down on a sheet of paper so that you don't have to work as hard on the next ones you do. You must click the "complete" button at the bottom of the text screen to mark that you have sent that person a card. You can't go back once you move on.
You can do that. Lots of people do postcards. Try Amazon. Lots of patriot ones on there. I do regular cards with envelopes but that's more expensive and more expensive to mail too. But yes, blank.
Looks great, I want to encourage a group to do it so do you know what kind of success rate they've had? Any stats on that? In my county, we sent post cards to Reps who don't vote, asking them to please vote. Looking back, our success rate was good.
I spoke with Scott on the phone and he says postcards have a 25% success rate which is really pretty good since people are getting correspondence from someone they don't even know. I'll take those odds and keep writing.
I don’t understand how the postcards work. Encouraging early voting causes the Dems to either print more ballots to overcome the conservative votes or to cause the algorithm to switch votes to win by a few points.
See Queen Hotchibo’s comment above and this link. (Sorry QH if I misspelled your name)
By waiting until election day, we run into all of the excuses that happen on that day to disenfranchise Republican voters. The weather. They ran out of ballots. There's a flood in the building and we have to close it. Etc etc etc. We have to bank our votes ahead and MAKE IT TOO BIG TO RIG. Do not wait until election day to vote.
Any idea any idea how the addressees are chosen? How does Scott know those names are people who would want to vote Republican and register to be Republican?
If it's like the campaigns I worked on last year, they are people who are new to PA but were registered Republican in previous state. He has a lot of info on people. LOL.
Thank you for this idea. I downloaded the app and will find some patriotic post cards to use. Great idea, and it doesn't require a lot of time and seems so simple yet with very effective outcomes according to comments from yourself, and others here. 😀
And I like that you are doing something concrete too promote winning. I always try to find something to do during election season like make calls or do literature drops for local candidates. I like this postcard idea.

Thanks very much!
Sheryl, do you buy blank postcards to write on? What's your source for postcards?
You can do that. Lots of people do postcards. Try Amazon. Lots of patriot ones on there. I do regular cards with envelopes but that's more expensive and more expensive to mail too. But yes, blank.
I found some great ones with 'vote' themes on Amazon for 15 cents each.
perfect!
BTW - I'm in FL too!
Thanks for the advice
Good luck in Portland!

Good question! And doesn’t vote early tip them off as to how many countering votes they need to win?

Wow, he really is deep into the weeds with it. Good for him--
I have considered doing that. Good to hear that other people have been trying it.
It's so easy to do! I did it last year with the PA, KY and LA campaigns Scott had going. Shoot to do 5. So so easy.

Thanks for pitching in. This is how we win!
