This is such a horrible situation and very difficult to know what is going on the ground and what course to take from thousands of miles away, but the town should have been evacuated. And hiding the rest of the manifest is egregious, because there is some nasty stuff on that train. I haven't had a chance to really think about the interactivity of the chemicals on the train, but the transporter should and should have had an emergency action plan beyond light a match and everyone goes home.

I'm an office guy, not a emergency field guy. Good emergency response workers save lives and futures, bad ones make things worse. We'll find out soon what we have in action.

My heart goes out to those people, their whole lives are changed forever.
