My mom died at 95. That morning she told a caregiver that she wanted to go be with her husband in heaven.

A few hours later ladies from the neighborhood came with cake and champagne to celebrate her 95th birthday. And a few hours after that, she passed quietly on her bed. When I got the news all I could say was good for you mom. A blessed life and a desired passing. What could be better?

My mom is 96 and keeps growing in the Lord, although she wants to go home. She says she thinks of that song which says "This earth is not my home, I'm just a'passin through". Thank God for these pillars that have gone before us and may we have the strength to make this world a better place.

“This earth is not my home, I'm just a'passin through". My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue. The angels beckon me from Heaven’s open door and I can’t feel at home in this world anymore.”

♥ Yes, those are the words she sings to me in her sweet voice. I count myself blessed to have such a mother. Thank you for the lyrics!

I had a great aunt, who lived to over 100 yo. She was my kindergarten teacher (her last year of teaching). The whole class called her Aunt Peg.
