My mom passed away last night at the age of 96. I feel that it wasn’t a coincidence that Jeff’s opening paragraph had Scripture in it saying “Absent from the body, home with the LORD. Just when I needed it. I do so much appreciate the willingness of readers to post Scripture as GODS word will not return empty.

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. Isaiah 55:11

I was with Mom when she went to Heaven. She had Alzheimer’s for several years by then, had her own vocabulary but amazingly could sing some favorite hymns along with Dad. Several days before I had been sitting on her single bed, leaning over her, but she wasn’t paying any attention to me, she was looking over my shoulder and smiling and waving I am sure, at some beings above us. I marveled……We were grateful that her roommate had been moved down the hall so that we could have the family privacy those last days. She passed away a week later.~~~Years ago, I was out of town when the mother of my friend passed away. I went to visit her dad after I came home, and asked about Mae’s last days. He said, “Oh maybe you don’t know about when she was in the hospital before”. I said “No, tell me.” He said, “Well, she had circulation problems, her legs swollen twice their size, and she had been in a coma for several days”. So the family was around her bed, when suddenly Mae sat up, raised her arms in the air, and told them “I’ve seen Him! He’s not ready for me yet, He sent me back!” And fell back on her pillows. She passed away ten years later. I’ve often wondered, what did God still have to make ready for Mae before she could come?!

I was just thinking this same thing this morning. I went outside to throw out some food scraps in the green bin when one of my neighbors rode by with one of his children in a bike seat. I called out a good morning greeting to him. He swung back around to chat. Really, I think it was to tell me about how his wife had been diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer. She’s stable after some very aggressive treatment. I wished them well and hoped for a complete remission. He hoped so, too, but he said, “You know, it’s ovarian cancer.” So, I told him about my aunt who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, had a hysterectomy, went into remission, and is still here some 30 years later. (She’s in her 80s now.)

His face lit up and he said, “Oh, really?”

I smiled. “Yes.”

“That’s great news.”

Not long after, he continued on his ride.

Hope. We must hold hope even in the darkest times and believe we can make it through it all.

Please share with your neighbor & his wife the book "How to Starve Cancer," by Jane McLelland. She is a cancer survivor (cervical, then 5 years later, lung) since 1994. She underwent traditional therapies - chemo & surgery - but also spent lots of time and energy figuring out which repurposed drugs & supplements could block cancer pathways. My own daughter has benefited from her "roadmap," which each person must individualize.

I would, but, to be honest, I have shared many times in the past only to have people get angry with me. This neighbor is a radiologist, very nice, but also very indoctrinated. There’s no question she got both shots and most likely boosters. I don’t know her well enough to offer the information.

You know, sometimes when encounters happen, or don’t happen, I want to look down and see whether I have left a trail….a trail as the snail might leave? Silvery on the sidewalk? And then I think “Ah-mazing! I was meant to be here, this time, and this place! “.~~~And I thought I was only stopping for gas and picking up cleaning….. So your exchange might leave the opening to say something later, when they need you to say more….”orders my steps”. Hmmm? Breaking ground, as in planting ? Keep it up Some day their pride might melt, when you’re handy.

There are many people who have gone on to what they thought was their “final destination” only to be sent back to finish the work that Father has intended for them…I love to watch Randy Kay’s interviews of people that have experienced an NDE and have gone up to meet Jesus and the Father…and yes, there are some that got sent to the DOWN Elevator…but were sent back to Earth to straighten up their act and to warn the rest of us that there IS Life after Death, and we all have a decision to make: acknowledge Jesus as your Lord & Savior, ask Him to be the Lord of your life, and follow Father’s commandments. If you choose to deny His existence and ignore His teachings, just remember Eternity is a mighty long time. Where would YOU rather spend it?

Right before my dad passed away, when he was in the hospital, he started looking up at the corner of the ceiling and started to describe the beauty he was seeing and how beautiful it was where he was going, and my mother was sitting beside him and said she wanted to go there with him too, and he said, “no you can’t go with me not for a long time.” I knew in that moment my mother was going to live to grow old. The last day of my dad's life, I was sitting with him at the nursing home talking.

He said: "I saw my mother today." I asked what she said. He told me she said everything will be fine. He was staring up at the ceiling and was very calm and relaxed. We'd talked before about deceased-to-this-life family contacting us and I asked him to do that if he could once he got to the other side. He said he would.

He said he saw God the day before. When I called the parish priest to let him know, he said, "It won't be long now." My dad died about 4 hours later, around 11 pm. The nurse who called was stunned as his vitals had been fine at her last check. My mom and I went to see him before he was taken to the funeral home. My dad had a great smile on his face.

The funeral home must have removed the smile because he didn't have it when he was laid out. But no matter - we saw it. :)

And my dad has come back several times. It seems like a random event but it's comforting.

It is indeed

My children were in car accident

I lost my oldest daughter, their best friend and my son was in coma for 40 days…..long days.

But what an experience was for me. I have to choose between flaying back to Mexico City for their funeral or going to Acapulco to be next to the living one….So in that long night and following day I make the decision to choose life.

I got to the hospital in Acapulco two days later and my son has been twice on the table for brain surgery.

Nobody will give him any chance, so I told them that the Lord will raise him up again and he will testify to all of them.

(Catholics in Mx. have a very different perspective of the Word)

About 3 years later, I was with my son in the pool and I was feeling the little hole in his scalp and I asked him what he could remember about those days he was in coma.

His answer was, I remember when you were kneeling next to me praying in my ear……

Then he described the whole scene, very calmly and when through the details.

The only way he could do that was he was looking from the top of the room, his soul was outside his body.

BTW he’s doing great 19 years later. Praise Got for It every day.

Do Not Stand At My Grave and Weep, By Clare Harner

Do not stand at my grave and weep;

I am not there. I do not sleep.

I am sunlight on ripened grain.

I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awake and greet the dawn

I am the soft starlight at night

Do not stand at my grave and cry;

I am not there.

My grandparents never stopped missing 2 of their children who died decades before them. They lived and enjoyed their other 7 children and the vast families each of those created over a lifetime, but that one spot in my grandparents’ hearts which belonged to each child could only be for that child. Love lasts a lifetime and tho it is difficult at times, loving another so fully is completely worth the challenges.

Never took any of our advise, and really got bad the last year when she saw a Frankenstein shrink and he gave her 5 toxins that she herself said " broke my brain". She was too proud and too broken to ask us for help, or even reconcile properly. Can't remember her ever saying she was sorry, but she said it twice in her note. I had a similar experience. My mother was in the hospital with Alzheimer’s and a broken hip. She had only a few weeks left to live. It was a Catholic hospital and a Catholic priest came in going about his rounds of Catholic patients. He happened to be the priest from our parish and was known to love music. My mother had not spoken for at least a year. He sang the Holy holy holy and my mother (who is Italian) started singing with him! At that moment a ray of bright sunshine blasted through the window (in rainy November in Seattle) and landed right on my mother. It was amazing.

My thought exactly. I have such admiration for this young man.

Then in my mind I picture him juxtaposed to our current crop of whining, Marxist, gender confused, flag burning, cry bullies, and I am disgusted.

Thank God we still have many fine, patriotic young people. They don’t make the news (unless they are being criticized as haters and bigots and MAGA deplorables) but they are out there and we need them more than ever.

This one brought tears to my eyes. My father, decorated career military, served in

WW II and came home in 1954 with a bride in tow — my mother (from Austria). That’s how I got here. It was a happy ending for our family, but videos like this remind me of all the families that were crushed with grief at the loss of their loved ones — not just in WW II, but throughout our history as a nation. We are all forever in their debt.

Thank you for the reminder that freedom comes at a high price. God bless. ✝️

Gone From My Sight

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side,

spreads her white sails to the moving breeze and starts

for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength.

I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speck

of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.

Then, someone at my side says, "There, she is gone."

Gone where?

Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast,

hull and spar as she was when she left my side.

And, she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.

Her diminished size is in me -- not in her.

And, just at the moment when someone says, "There, she is gone,"

there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices

ready to take up the glad shout, "Here she comes!" —Henry Van Dyke

And on this mountain He will swallow up the covering which is over all peoples,

Even the veil which is stretched over all nations.

He will swallow up death for all time,

And Lord Yahweh will wipe tears away from all faces,

And He will remove the reproach of His people from all the earth;

PRAYER REQUEST UPDATE!

I’ve been a C&C junkie for four years.

Last Friday I put out a request for urgent spiritual battle warfare prayer. I posted it as a comment to Janice’s daily scripture.

34 of you prayer warriors replied with prayer, scriptures and encouragement.

I have no words other than to deeply say THANK YOU!!! 😭😭😭

Our family has been battling hard for weeks, in a state where we are without surrounding family and friends. The Lord told me to reach out for help, so I reached out to you all. Within 24 hours there was BREAKTHROUGH!!! 💃🏻 🙏

The devil came to steal from us, destroy what God has given, and to physically kill one member of my family. The oppression was thick and the presence of evil was palpable. Beyond anything I’ve ever experienced.

The enemy had convinced a member of my family (who loves Jesus and lives for Him) to take his own life for reasons that don’t matter. The voices were real, direct and manipulative. I physically saw the battle happening right in front of me. I spent two hours Saturday morning following the lead of the Holy Spirit and shared scripture and truth. I shared biblical stories as the Holy Spirit gave me. I had worship music playing. The Lord spoke to my heart clearly and said “do not stop”. I refused to let the enemy have my family. I spoke truth after truth after truth until the breakthrough came, and when it did The Lord Jesus Christ came in like a flood with compassion and tender care, and saved his physical life, gave forgiveness and already in two short days has brought redemption and restoration even better than before. It has been miraculous! We’ve been weeping for two days and thanking God for his grace and mercy.

I should also add I do not believe this person was possessed by anything. But the oppression was thick because he chose to listen and believe the lies he was hearing. There is freedom at the foot of the cross through a repentant heart. 😭

So THANK YOU C&C Army!!! You are more than political junkies. You are an Army of ACTION TAKERS, DOERS, people who respond to the call. You helped call in The Army of the Lord to battled principalities and powers and bring down strongholds. You helped save a family. I will be forever grateful to you. ♥️

You have no idea how much hope your words have given me. When we pray and praise, He wars on our behalf.

We too have been waging war for someone too. Her name is Jojo. We believe, we trust, we hope and so we pray. Intercession is the word of our day. Every day. For our family, for our nation.

Expand full comment
Sunnydaze's avatar

Never give up. Stand. Take back what the enemy is trying to steal. We are fighters here on C&C for our country. God is telling us to fight for His people and our families. We pray and follow His leading and He saves, delivers, heals and redeems!

Lord, please show compassion to Jojo and protect her. Bring her to her knees in repentance and submission so that she may look up from the foot of the cross and see You. Behold you stand at the door and knock…help her have the strength to merely jiggle the handle and then burst in like a flood and cover her. In Jesus name.

She has the purest of hearts. She gave birth to her 6th child. She and her husband are in ministry. The child came very early, the birth caused a neurological storm that has affected every lobe in her brain. But her husband only leaves her side to go home and spend short spans of time with their children.

It happened on Mother’s Day.

The neurologists thought there was no hope. But they are beginning to believe in the power of prayer. One neurologist has gone ahead and scheduled her to speak at a conference one year from now……he is seeing that the God they serve is Faithful and True. Souls are being changed by this event.

Her husband’s name is Tobin, hers is Jojo. Please, if you will, remember them when you pray❤️

Expand full comment
Sunnydaze's avatar

Oh wow! I’m so sorry. What I prayed, while still the truth, needs to be changed to fit this circumstance. I will remember Jojo and her family. The Lord in His mercy can heal and the devil who wants to take her life has no power to do so. The Lord knows the number of her days not the enemy. She is a child of the One True God. May the Lord protect her and keep that family close to His heart and answer the cries of their heart. Lord, lead them in the way You want them to pray. May their will line up with Your will and plan. Allow the Holy Spirit to speak truth and give them ears to hear you and the courage and strength to stand. Protect their kids and her husband Lord Jesus.

By the blood of the Lamb we ask for her complete healing Lord. In Jesus name. Amen

❤️❤️I took no offense at this. What is so amazing is that this is happening in the Deep South….Tennessee. They are a mixed race couple. She is black and he is white. Those saying she has the purest of hearts are white people whom the media depicts as ignorant, uneducated bigots and racist. They are having prayer meetings every day. It is one amazing thing after the other. Healing of relationships has come through this woman. She is loved by the church and the community at large. This is one of the most encouraging things I have ever seen. She has lived such a life, and it is as though everyone has circled their wagons and are fighting with flaming swords.

Makes me weep when I think of her.

Thank you so much for your prayers.

Thank you to every one who whispers her name. And please pray for the children.

Spiritual warfare is real! At some point in the early years of my Christian life (I became a Christian in 1976) satan began tempting me to commit suicide. It was really strange. I was not depressed, there was nothing going on in my life to cause me to consider such a thing, but there was the temptation, the oppression, every day, even to beginning to make a plan. At the same time, I continued to cry out to Jesus to help me. I did not want to dishonor His name. The reason I say it was satan is because after weeks of this, the oppression suddenly lifted. I really felt like satan decided it just wasn't going to work and he gave up. "You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world." 1 John 4:4

❤️🤍💙 An excerpt from The Conservateur Author:Emily Johnson - Dear fallen soldier, sailor, marine, or airman,

I am writing you this letter on the eve of Memorial Day weekend. This weekend, often regarded as the unofficial start to summer, will be filled with barbecues, fireworks, and discounted prices at favorite retail stores. But these things are only noise. Every year as Memorial Day arrives, I think of you.

I think of the bomber pilots of World War II and their commitment to service, even in the face of almost certain death.

I think of the Marines who gallantly raised the American flag during the Battle of Iwo Jima in 1945.

I think of the Battle of Mogadishu in 1993 when 18 Army soldiers were shot from their Black Hawk helicopters and killed.

I think of the 17 Navy SEALs who were killed in 2011 during Extortion 17.

I think of the 11 Marines, one soldier, and one sailor who were killed at Abbey Gate in 2021.

It is atop your shoulders, the shoulders of giants, that our nation stands. It is because of the constant courage and unwavering American spirit of valiant patriots like you that our colors do not run.

You are the soul of this country. Not Democrats or Republicans, but you. Please know that your sacrifice was not made in vain. It is because of you that we are free.

I would like to add that I do not believe this person was possessed by anything but the oppression was heavy. He chose to listen to the lies and believe them. Freedom came at the foot of the cross through repentance.

So THANK YOU C&C Army!!! You are more than political junkies. You are an Army of ACTION TAKERS, DOERS, people who respond to the call. You helped call in The Army of the Lord to battle principalities and powers and bring down strongholds. You helped save a family. I will be forever grateful to you. ♥️

Thank you, Sunnydaze, for posting this update - so grateful for G-d's mercy and grace; we rejoice with you! Amazing Grace is actually playing as I write this!

We are now in the midst of a similar battle, seemingly out of the blue. s-t-n is working overtime to destroy family members (primarily younger ones but affecting adults as well), sending arrows from multiple directions. We, as a family, have been praying since Monday - the hits just keep coming: spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical.

Thank you for sharing how you battled for your precious loved one - it is of tremendous encouragement to me, personally, as I pray throughout these days.

Lord Jesus, thank you for this community!!

I agree. There is an all out assault on families. There has been some pretty regular backlash happening since last weekend here as well. We have to be guarded at all times it seems. Keep standing strong and seek The Lord for directions on how to do battle for your loved ones. He will be faithful to lead you out and bring victory!! 👏 👏

Pray the armor of God over each of you daily too!! Anoint your door frames all over your house. Until you hear from The Lord STAND. Make your stand agains the schemes of the enemy and STAND strong. Prayers for you friend. 🙏 ♥️

My dad was in the Navy during WWll. He was aboard a mine sweeper that was apparently full of asbestos. He came home to my mom after the war and went to Ohio State University and graduated suma cum laud with an Animal Husbandry degree. He was hired as a farm manager on a large dairy farm in Galloway, OH. He and my mom went on to have 4 children; I am the oldest, born in 1950. Their happy farm life ended with his death in 1956 at the age of 39. He had very aggressive lung cancer (not a smoker) that I would guess was caused by exposure to asbestos that led to mesothelioma. Our sad little family moved off the farm and back to my mom’s hometown of Cincinnati. Mom never remarried, we grew up fatherless and wild. My poor mom was treated like a pariah because she was an attractive widow. My brothers both ended up homeless, one died years ago and the other vanished and my sister and I haven’t heard from him in years. All this to say, many war casualties came years after the war ended. God bless the families who grew up without a father because he died during or after whichever war he fought. I am so thankful that I will see my dad and brave little mom again in heaven.

My heart hurt reading your post! When we learn all wars are contrived and who they benefit, we see the senseless and unnecessary sacrifices that are cloaked in doing the greater good. Thank you for sharing such a personal and justified comment.

The Armor of God

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

This has been near and dear to our family recently. Thank you for sharing it. These aren’t merely words on paper in a book. These are words to LIVE by and put into practice. Evil is rampant in this day. We HAVE to be protected. The devil walks around seeking who he may devour. He comes to steal, kill and destroy LITERALLY.

We need the armor of God. He gave it to us for a reason. 💜

The church service I attended yesterday was very powerful. The preacher recited scripture. That was it. Just scripture. The promises of God. Of course, the above passage was included in the recitation. It was the most encouraging and powerful message I’ve heard in a while. God’s word is powerful, living and true. 🙏🏻

Granny Annie if you get a chance please look at my comment today. You can find it as a reply to Janice’s scripture of the day and also as a stand alone comment. Our family JUST faces this battle and I am here to tell you there is power in the name of Jesus and His shed blood. Do not give up. Stand firm. Call on Jesus for help. He is faithful.

Praying for your daughter.

Pray the armor of God over here. If she is too weak or struggles to put it on herself then you pray and ask God to put it on for her. You be the watchman on the gate for her. You make sure that armor is in place every single morning. Peace to you friend. ♥️

My husband ejected out of an F16 off the runway at Misawa Japan in 1998. We were newlyweds, airlifted to BAMC, the burn unit in San Antonio where he fought for his life, lost limb after limb, and passed away 3 months later and a few weeks after our year anniversary. He is buried at the Air Force Academy in COS. I remarried another F16 pilot (ironically) and life has been wonderful and hard. We lost our son to brain cancer 5 years ago and he too is buried at USAFA. This last year I met my nephew who was born after I lost my husband, but named after him. Another irony, he and my daughter attend the same college now in Nashville. He flew out this week to get to know our family better and the pilots here introduced him to the legacy of his uncle. We spent the day at one of the Air Force Bases that we live near and our friends toured him through the trainer jet, and the simulators, did a roll call in the pilot bar, and toasted his uncle and a couple of other good friends we have lost in the jet over the years, they recapped what happened to him in his accident, answered so many unanswered questions for this young man (his dad didn't talk much about his brother, grief is a beast). Then we went to the F16 base and my husband showed him the jet his uncle flew, life support, etc. All that to say is that our military guys and gals know how to honor those they served with, show the families what they meant, and made it special for my newfound nephew. A heartfelt shout out to those of us who have suffered the tremendous loss of our loved ones who have served this great nation and a thank you to those who don't forget them.
