The last day of my dad's life, I was sitting with him at the nursing home talking.

He said: "I saw my mother today." I asked what she said. He told me she said everything will be fine. He was staring up at the ceiling and was very calm and relaxed. We'd talked before about deceased-to-this-life family contacting us and I asked him to do that if he could once he got to the other side. He said he would.

He said he saw God the day before. When I called the parish priest to let him know, he said, "It won't be long now." My dad died about 4 hours later, around 11 pm. The nurse who called was stunned as his vitals had been fine at her last check. My mom and I went to see him before he was taken to the funeral home. My dad had a great smile on his face.

The funeral home must have removed the smile because he didn't have it when he was laid out. But no matter - we saw it. :)

And my dad has come back several times. It seems like a random event but it's comforting.
