Just happened where I live and it’s going to happen next year as well. My taxes went up 50% but I feel lucky, others went up 100% and others even more than that! A lot of retirees as well as a huge diverse population here that were just trying to get away from the city’s crime…I bet there will be tons of tax sales for property…wonder if BlackRock shows up 🤦🏻‍♀️🤔

Real estate prices have been suppressed in Hellinois due to our exorbitant property taxes.

I’m glad our property taxes got capped at max 1% of assessed value under the governor who was in power when we moved here. At least that way you don’t get a big surprise increase from one year to the next. Our taxes have remained relatively reasonable for the most part.
