For the time had not yet come for Jesus to fulfill His purpose of dying on the cross to redeem us from our sins. That day had been set since before the foundation of the world and it had to take place during Passover so that The Passover Lamb could be sacrificed.
Robin, it is supremely comforting to me (and amazing) that it all happened according to God’s timeline, not man’s. He would merely slip away or disappear from their sight. Until it was time.
