How wonderful that you opened home and hearth to these kids. I have often wanted to do just that - but you must be married and with your husband in order to take on exchange students. That discouraged me quite a bit.

Some kids do keep in touch. One Japanese girl is coming with her mom and boyfriend in a few months.
Japanese girls were super sweet too. But, maybe Japanese society is too restrictive, a few of the Japanese girls were a little stiff and reserved. We had to teach them to relax and realize different parts of the world are just different.

Yes, hosting exchange students have brought us a lot of joy, and even the challenging ones provided us with learning opportunities as well.
We were able to change several young lives for the better, pointing them to a bigger wider view on life, and see possible future outcomes.

If only there were more organizations like this one - which I believe started in the early 1960's!!
