But, I lived way out in the country and things changed slowly back then, with no internet, no consolidated radio stations, etc. Better in so many ways, even if there were some dumb things like doing bomb drills when there was no threat and the "solution" would do nothing. (Even as a kid I was thinking, I'm pretty sure a bomb can beat this desk.)
