People NEED salt. Cutting salt was a horrible health recommendation. It’s not the salt, it’s the processed food.

We legitimately “supplement” with it (LMNT actually), and it has been life changing. But we also don’t eat a ton of processed/refined trash.

There’s a small subset of hyper responders to salt, but even then there are a ton of ways to address it.

Salt restriction makes me cringe. We NEED it.

Erin, I think LMNT is actually kind of an expensive fad. I’ve been using Himalayan or Celtic sea salt for years…exclusively. I don’t even buy junk table salt. You can research the recipe for LMNT, it’s basically keeping the salt and potassium balanced, with some vitamin C I believe. The easy, cheap potassium ingredient is found in cream of tartar. I make what’s called an adrenal cocktail which is 6 oz. of high quality organic OJ (for the vitamin C), 1/4 t. Celtic salt, 1/4 t. cream of tartar.

For a healthy compound of minerals I also drink Sole every morning. Instructions for that can be found on Pinterest.

Maybe I should add that, as you say some folks may have a hyper response to sodium. They probably consume a diet high in processed foods which contain terribly high amounts of junk sodium. I have adrenal issues which cause low BP so I never have to worry about the amount of sodium I consume, combined with the fact that we eat very few processed foods and ALL of our salt is from a healthy source.

I agree with you, that I cringe when I hear of people on salt restricted diets. It’s a very important mineral…IF you’re getting the right kind, and keeping the wrong kind out of your foods.

Yep.

But it COULD make for good health (as Bobby Jr says, Make America Healthy Again! - I saw someone selling the T-shirt already, lol!):

Casey and Calley Means, the authors of the book "Good Energy":

https://rumble.com/v5b73od-calley-and-casey-means-the-truth-about-ozempic-the-pill-and-how-big-pharma-.html?e9s=src_v1_ucp

BTW, RFKJr talked about Calley Means in one of his interviews (maybe more than one), so that's the foundation of his Make America Healthy Again policy it seems.

Apparently, real medicine is in real food!

Food is another Big Business and the Agricultural Lobby (for ultra-processed foods and run by the "cigarette industry") is the biggest in DC (who knew?) and might as well be lumped in with Big Pharma, at this point.

If RFKJr could take them both on effectively under the banner of getting the toxins out of our bodily environment and working to eliminate chronic childhood disease, that would be awesome.

I love how he talks about the environment in his latest interview with Tucker, that we want to keep nature clean and pure, not monetize it through carbon metrics, which is a money diversion program for elitists; "environmental protection" is ACTUALLY a spiritual mission to protect the Creation, and Creation is a very fine way to know the Creator. I agree with Bobby on this.

AND, he is talking about RESTORATION (as opposed to renovation) of our soil...

(to me, that's real "Book of Genesis" stuff!)

He is not overweight so he did some research and tried different things until he firgured out what worked for him. In his case, he added some potassium rich foods like sweet potatoes and spinach since low potassium levels can cause HBP. His BP is now normal. I also think they lowered the "normal" blood pressure range so Big Pharma could push BP medicine, but I digress. My mom ended up in the hospital for a week after the doctors had her electrolytes so out of whack. Course, they sent her home from the ER without doing anything and we had to take her back a couple of days later. They were going to dismiss her until I spoke up and strongly stated she wasn't going home and she wasn't ok and that she couldn't even walk a few steps to the bathroom without collapsing. I'm so over the medical establishment.

Robin - we should ALL be over the medical establishment! Unfortunately people are so brainwashed - if the DOCTOR says it - you must do it! Our son-in-law's father was diabetic and also had some high blood pressure. His wife kept him on a strict low sugar diet, but allowed all the nasty artificial sweeteners, and of course, a very strict LOW sodium diet. Guess what? He ended up in the hospital TWICE because his sodium levels were too low. You would think they might have done a little research and learned something about the importance of correct sodium levels, but I guess not since it happened a second time. And I might add, these are very intelligent, well educated people.

Doctors continually give bad advice, especially in regard to diet and pharmaceuticals. I don't know why anyone listens to them!

Similar to cutting cholesterol - one of those strange things that the brain needs to function. But as many have and will note - it's not cutting cholesterol, (good) fats, or salt that we really need, but cutting sugars and highly processed foods. But that way lies freedom from the big corporations and better health for all (and sometimes a lack of tasty treats) so we won't do that. Doesn't help that really healthy food tends to be on the pricier side. :/

Expand full comment
CMCM's avatar

Exactly! In fact, I've read that higher cholesterol is actually good for older people because of the brain! I've had high Cholesterol my whole life, and I have very high HDL in the 70s, which is great. My LDL tends to be high, but I have the fluffy type A particles. I eat virtually no sugar and no processed foods, so I have no worries about my test results. Fortunately, I have a doctor who agrees with me. The medical profession has always tried to put everyone into the same box, and the supposedly dangerous cholesterol levels standards have been lowered over the years, all with the design to get people on statins for life. I refused statins, thank goodness and demanded the LDL particle type test instead. Everyone should find out whether they have the fluffy (not dangerous) or dense (dangerous) type particles, by the way. Doctors don't order this test automatically.

It's not so good to smoke it, since the additives and the burning of the chemicals is harmful.

Dr Ardis also says, it's not the tobacco that's addictive, it's an additive.

Dr Ardis says it in this Q&A, but I'm forgeting the name. Perizine?

That's what it sounded like to me.

When I tried looking up perizine (turns out it's pyrazine) just now, because I thought that's what I recalled it being called, I rediscovered the lists of all kinds of additives to cigarettes that I wouldn't want in my lungs or any cell of my body.

I quit smoking in 2005, but even at that time I read about the chemicals that were present. It was a word from God (no kidding), not reading about the chemicals, that enabled me to finally quit the smoking. I did use the nicotine gum for a period during that time.

So, I asked Brave Browser (just to confirm), if pyrazine is added to cigarettes.

Here's a paper I just found and skimmed, on pyrazines in cigarettes.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4941150/

But there are organic tobacco pouches people can get.

Dr Ardis says he gets the 21 mg patch and cuts it into 6 pieces and wears one a day every day.

I personally started chewing the gum again during COVID and ever since, after listening to Dr Ardis describe how it works to block the nicotinic receptors so the spike protein doesn't attach to them.

It helps with focus parameters in the brain, too.

That whole salt thing is such bull pucky. Of course if you’re eating a lot of processed foods you’re already getting a metric ton of salt a day because they chemically enhance it as well as adding sugar and salt to the gills to make it palatable and addictive. So no, you shouldn’t be dumping more salt on THAT, but if you’re cooking normal, made from whole ingredient food then salt is no enemy. Covid is once again making it's rounds, and since it is something we will have to live with a few times a year, they won't back off with the jabs.

In CT. my daughter. her husband, and 22 month old grandbaby have it...unjabbed, and not the first time (first time for the baby). My daughter refuses to ever take a covid test, but from the symptoms, (and knowing it is going around) they know.

Muscle aches are really bad this time.

No taste is still a symptom. They are miserable. The baby sometimes takes food out of her mouth because, we assume, the altered taste.

So this fear of being sick will continue to entice people to those horrible vaccines, and the sudden deaths and cancers, especially in younger people will continue to baffle scientists and researchers.

Studies have suggested that during a bout of covid as many as 68% of people experience loss of smell and 44% lose their sense of taste.45 But no evidence suggests that these effects are due to the virus entering the brain.”
