From the moment I opened Sat AM's C&C and learned of the attack, I have purposefully tuned out all of the news on this. The first week of any major story is a lot of talking without any real insight, and honestly, foreign policy is an area for me where I am a mile wide and an inch deep, save a few forays into a rabbit hole here and there…

The first week of any major story is a lot of talking without any real insight, and honestly, foreign policy is an area for me where I am a mile wide and an inch deep, save a few forays into a rabbit hole here and there. So I decided to reserve all judgment on this until we know more, save a lot of prayers for the innocent people killed and kidnapped.
I did watch Tucker's interview with Vivek, though, as I watch all of Tucker's broadcasts, and while I don't trust Vivek, he did make the point (and since I am not watching or listening to the media I can't vet this) that NO ONE (except Jeff on C&C) is asking how did one of the best intelligence agencies on the earth miss this? He said in asking that, he was told it was 'too soon' but he argued that, no it was not too soon, as we need to find out what caused this 'gaping hole' in US and Israeli intelligence before feeding more dollars into it. (5:45 mark at https://twitter.com/i/status/1711496189323952185) Seems like a good question to me?!
Good move to tune out. I was working a crisis hotline when 9/11 happened, so I missed all that footage, and then after my shift was over I chose to keep missing it. None the worse for it, imho.
I don't really have a source I trust when it comes to the middle east. I WAS sucked in on 9/11. Was at the office, but all of us kept gravitating back into the conference room where a TV was on. And here we are 22 years later, with a plethora of more options for 'news' and still don't know the whole truth. Although what I thought was true then I no longer believe.
Yeah, the point at which I realize the situation there is so complicated is also the point at which I have to shrug and say, well, there are plenty of conflicts right here at home that I should just save my energy for. I understand many will read this assertion and say "You bet it does too concern you" and I do not deny that it well may, but I have no personal skin in the game there (i.e. peeps on either side of that border), and while I may be subject to Israeli spyware the US Govt bought, or while I may be yet further defrauded as a taxpayer by sending my dollars or goods bought with my dollars over there, still. We got troubles here, including border, local elections, economy, Constitution being ripped to shreds. Plus plenty of folks here who need our charity, versus those abroad. So much to do, here.
Not to mention local leftist infiltration that we can still fight back on - there are several things going on locally that we are making progress on and yet most of the focus has now shifted to stuff we have NO control over.
