Which is where the other truth comes in: no way could they do this w/o intelligence agency assistance. The timing and scale of this screams deep state involvement. Falling for this as some one-off spontaneous act is no different than falling for "weapons of mass destruction," "we should've attacked Afghanistan instead," "covid is an equal opportunity killer," "the most tested safe and effective vaccines in history."
Contrary to Jeff's take, what people actually don't want to believe is that their own government - or rather, the shadow government that Eisenhower warned us about - is actually in control and does this sort of thing on the regular. The rest of the world knows it. But, Americans are generally willfully ignorant of the role the CIA plays in the world. It's both sad and frustrating.
