Yes there are plenty of lawyers who are a disgrace to the profession. I have 3 lawyers in my family, & I dare say not one would compromise his integrity & standards as a believer by using underhanded tactics to “get anyone off.” I know my husband has refused cases, warning the one trying to hire that they wouldn’t/couldn’t win & he didn’t want to take their $$. They hired another attorney & promptly lost their case.
There are honorable lawyers out there, but sadly the bad actors taint the profession.
I agree with you that there are good people in Law, just as there are in Advertising and Public Relations. I work for a a defense contractor so I'm certainly in no place to throw stones. My brother, sister, brother-in-law, and cousin are lawyers too.
I didn't say that only bad people work in law, but at it's foundation is propaganda. The entire intent of the industry is to persuade people to act in their client's interests rather than their own interest. That is indisputable.
Now good people, like your relatives and mine, work hard to ensure they are only using propaganda when their client's cause is just. That is admirable. But it's still propaganda.
