I want to encourage you to promote Daily Family Worship as the NUMBER ONE INDISPENSABLE FAMILY ACTIVITY.
5 minutes in the morning
5 minutes in the evening
Read the Bible and pray with your family
If you have time, sing a psalm or a hymn.
This, MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE, will bullet proof your family.
1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper - Psalm 1
Sorry, but I consider all organized religions as ancient mythologies and support none of them.
I believe that Biglino's translations of teh writings that became the "Bible" are worth examination.
Still... family or personal prayer to a non-specific "higher power" or "creator" is, IMO, beneficial in several ways. There is great power in "intention" and "focus" and "determination". (Napoleon Hill stuff)
The Ten Commandments are written on all our hearts.
We can deny it all we want, but ...
we will all have to do business with King Jesus ...
sooner or later.
It would be better to do it, in this life ...
when it will be of benefit to you.
Jesus said -
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him - John 14
