Why hasn't Gov D got ivermectin as freely available OTC in all pharmacies in the state?

Let's go...........

If Tennessee can do it, so can Florida.

Needs to be OTC.

I ordered my IVM from an online Indian pharmacy.

And for the folks who want to criticize that plan, my last Rx for blood pressure meds sent to me by the VA were made in Bangladesh.

No judgement here. I take hits off my horses’ ivermectin lol

Is it the apple flavored variety? I had one horse who loved it, the rest, not so much. The goats were split 50-50. 😂🤣

I get it from there also and recently realized my inhalers are lots cheaper from India too. It says to upload a scrip but you don’t have to.

Please add which company link... The last batch we ordered was from inside the states and the price is ridiculous! My hubby has a habit of GIVING it to folks when they need it, then if we do, it's gone...

Easier and quicker if you use a payment app.

I used a check and it took about a month. But, it was also during the plandemic.

Yes...those offering it in the U.S. via a prescription or whatever they do charge a really high price. So much for helping the public.

I think it is...

Will someone from TN, or a nearby state, let us know?

It is available OTC in TN from pharmacies. Some places still require you to give your weight, birthdate, list of medicines you are taking. So it's not like picking up Zyrtec off the shelf, but still no prescription required.

Thanks for the details.

Years ago I purchased Sudafed and had to present my PA driver's license.

For public benefit? They want to make sure you won't make meth with the sudafed and track people buying it. I don't mind but in the long run it is a small step in violating rights for so called good. Another plausible reason is if people make it, the 3 letter agencies will lose that revenue.

I wonder if you can order it from pharmacies in Tennessee…

Thanks.

Do they ship to all the states?

That seems to be a bit pricier than what it should be now...

The legislature in TN submitted a bill for this and the governor signed, I’m assuming? Then the Florida legislature needs to get to work on it!

Could someone from TN let us know how it was done?

Ok so I am a pharmacist in KS not TN but just read a snippet of the actual Tenn Code 63-10-224 which basically states that you have to go to a pharmacy that has a collaborative agreement with a provider/prescriber and they can "prescribe/dispense" to you per this collaborative agreement and be "held harmless" if dispensed under these agreements. There is some paperwork involved but we did the narcan nasal spray (in KS) this way for a few years until they finally made it over the counter. You're allowed to charge a "visit or prescribing fee" but I would guess that may or may not be similar to the one that is now in place in most states for FLU/COVID prescribing/dispensing (I have yet to do this as all the "appointments" are during the day and I work overnight)--we do the combo flu/covid test (fee involved) and if positive can prescribe paxlovid or tamiflu (pretty sure those are the only ones currently on the protocol but I could be wrong--just got off ten hr shift). The drugs should be covered by your insurance and the fee for test varies by type you get (rapid or pcr--$20-$120) and there is approx $45 prescribing fee if you want drugs--depending where you go. Could vary widely depending on independent vs chain. Hope this helps!

Someone from TN did comment about it a month or so ago. It's tied up still, in some bureaucratic maneuver, so not really available OTC. I noted it particularly because I was going to be driving through TN and wanted to buy some OTC.

In Tn a prescription is no longer required. I don't know if someone without a Tn address can get it. It is only available at a few pharmacies, usually compounding pharmacies. I have never even tried to use insurance for it. There is a limited amount of paperwork involved, but no prescription.

Thanks, L1. Is the issue that very few pharmacies will dispense it OTC even with a valid prescription and legal standing to do so?

I’m just guessing, but seems like the big pharmacies were being told not to do it even though legal in Tn.

OK, thanks.

I am thinking about ordering some more from an online Indian pharmacy.

Along with antibiotics.
