So the CDC redefined the word "rare" just like "vaccine" and "woman" were redefined. I can redefine "car" to mean anything with an engine, but my lawn mower still won't get me to work. That's how these people try to solve problems - just change the meaning of the word. It just shows that the best and brightest certainly work for the government!<sarcasm>

This 'redefinition' phenomenon is not limited to medical terms. A friend gave public testimony at our local school board meeting this week about the book, All Boys Aren't Blue, which he attempted to read at the podium, which is basically a pornographic book that is available in our school libraries, the board approved it last year. Despite MO law banning the provision of pornography to minors, my friend was cut off, and escorted out by the police, for reading an excerpt from this book, as our board president said rules banned 'profane' language during public comments. But hey, the kids can check out the book. So: profane is defined as a parent reading a book at a meeting of adults, but its NOT profane for a child to read this same book?

And don't get me started on what they have done to the words 'dignity' and 'belonging'.

Good for your friend. This fight will be won by courageous people doing as he did and exposing the madness.

These "laws" banning groomer filth need criminal penalties and ironclad language. Case in point, the recent Project Veritas exposure of Georgia's new CRT program for kindergarteners, which the unqualified sicko admitted was just repackaged DEI. Similar in Virginia, great news laws but no actual change or follow-through. These laws sound great to voters, but in practice they don't do much.

True, they just shape shift and change the language. The only real answer to this is school choice, where any parent is free to vote with their feet. Or homeschooling. Mine are grown, but some of this was getting started over a decade ago when they were in HS.

He who controls the language, controls….

Word redefinition has been happening for a long time, hasn’t it. Had to explain even to our kiddo yesterday why THE BIBLE translation had a disagreement between pronoun (their, plural) and antecedent (everyone, singular) because of the crazy insistence that “his” cannot refer to both males and to males and females. 🙄
