In Co briefly while driving back from NM and amazed, and disgusted, to see regular gas was only 86, not 87 octane. Unreal. Reminds me of the saying about the Swiss ,"They'll eat a nail, and spit out a screw"

I believe that’s because of the altitude. I remember my dad explaining it to me once... but it was long ago.
