Yeah, me too. He's done many bad movies, but so many good ones. Blades of Glory is pure genius, and EuroVision may be his best movie, imo.
Apparently his wife is Swedish, and she said to him to for years — we have this comically camp song contest, that is also very charming because it's quite earnest (which is true; that's what makes it funny). Literally hundreds of millions of people watch it. It's almost crazy that no movie has been made about it!
She somehow managed to explain that ...terrible as it is... millions of people really love it and invest in it — so she said he should make a movie about it.
And finally he did.
I think that's such a cute story. His wife was right, there's a great story there.
And her personal knowledge of being Scandi, allowed them to key into some of the sillier and funnier points of the movie. Love it.

Agreed, it's the totally the kind of movie that looks like it will be awful, but turns out to be such fun, and has a lovely message to boot.
Enjoy!
And I happen to like Will Ferrel. He makes me laugh. 🤭
If you like Will don’t miss the classic comedy, Dick, the true story of deep throat. Great cast and 70’s soundtrack.
