Kinda reminds me of the colosseums that were built by politicians to influence and distract the people. Except today they watch for the occasional sacrifice to the jab gods...

Here's a little bit of mostly unknown history. In Calvin's day, the entrenched dominant ecclesiastic power in France would send in troops of musical and other entertainment in an attempt to distract the people in Geneva from learning, particularly the learning of the Reformation movement.

Elites have always wanted to keep the people stupidly in a stupor. That is why the powers that be of the day wrecked printing presses, made owning Bibles readable in one's own language a criminal offense punishable, up to and including death. Anything to thwart, undermine and derail the true learning of the masses. Look around America and say it ain't so!

That is why there was a fierce campaign to lock down social media to all but the Official Narrative.
