This true of soooo many “call centers” now. It’s ridiculous too, simply because there are really effective external noise cancelling headsets/earbuds etc now, so what archaic tech are they using that it can’t do that?

Yes, I was using a headset once and had a phone ringing that I couldn’t turn off and when I apologized for the noise, the person I was talking to said she didn’t even hear it!
