“He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?”

And how do we walk humbly with God?

Ecclesiastes 12

13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.

14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether it be good or whether it be evil.

For the follower of Christ Jesus who has been born again and renewed by the Holy Spirit, the yoke of God's commandments and law is a light burden and a guide for life to lead us beside still waters.

For the reprobate, they chaff at the yoke and cannot tolerate the light of God's law meaning to destroy us as testimonies to His grace and faithfulness. Gird up your loins. The worst is yet to come.

The worst is yet to come for them. We gird our loins and happily accept their attacks when we see they are panicking for good reason

nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts,

and their foolish hearts were darkened.

Professing to be wise, they became fools"

This world is not my resting place. It is my testing place. In whom do I trust? I am nothing.

“Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.”

Absolute failure in heeding God’s Words. Why our world and nation is in the dark pit.

"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom" Prov 9:10

The "fearing God" means to be in complete reverence and awe of Him, not to fear Him as a child fears the dark...

He said to love God. He did not say do not fear God.

Yup. You could be interested enough to do your own research.

Exodus 18:21 Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating unjust gain; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens:

Genesis 42:18 And Joseph said unto them the third day, This do, and live; for I fear God:

Exo 9:30

But as for thee and thy servants, I know that ye will not yet fear Jehovah God.

Lev 19:14

Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind; but thou shalt fear thy God: I am Jehovah.
