That one still kills me. I'd never _heard_ of Juneteenth until I moved to Texas. And even then - it was ... just a day. You might get a lesson or something on it in public school, but it was never any sort of holiday. Still crazy that it's a federal holiday now and people are acting like it was always some huge event.

Well, Kwanzaa earns a lot of money and social cred for the flubadub who invented it, and for the greeting card makers who jumped on that Fweedom Train.

The Juneteenth malarkey has gone too far: I read that in CA they will pay reparations to any person whose ancestors were slaves. Hmmm does that include Koreans who were enslaved by Japanese or Greeks who were enslaved to Ottoman Turks as well?
