It's remarkable how many people have bought the silly narrative that NATO presents some sort of a threat to Russia. What do you think the chances are that NATO would ever invade sovereign (and nuclear!) Russia? It's ridiculous in the extreme. Putin and the leftover protocommunists use it as an excuse to try to "reconstitute the Soviet empire" which is exactly what Putin said he would do, including saying the "greatest tragedy of the 20th century was the dissolution of the Soviet empire". It just enraged him to give up all of his slaves whose lives and cultures and families the Soviets were destroying. He aims to reverse that.
