My husband wrote this, published in the local paper a few days ago. In a conversation with a local politician about it, the politician said, "who cares? Nobody cares about that." Needless to say that politician, a conservative in the state legislature, no longer has our support. Here's what my husband wrote:

"Remembering

Two years ago, as I was visiting my son, then a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division, that visit was cut short when around noon his battalion, the designated alert battalion, received notification to load up and fly to Kabul. After completing 12 deployments to Afghanistan myself, one can’t imagine my worry. The Taliban had just taken over the entire country! The situation was chaotic.

His was the first aircraft to land at the Kabul Airport and the scenes confronting him and his paratroopers, many on their first real-world mission were straight out of Dantes Inferno. The next 16 days were filled with indelible imagines of sheer horror - the crush of panicked humanity with mothers tossing their infants up towards troops on the perimeter wall and those children getting entangled in the razor wire; collecting the remains off the taxi- and runway of Afghans who had desperately clung to a departing aircraft only to plunge to their deaths; the dead and wounded after the suicide bombing; the abandoned police dogs; and the piles of equipment left by fleeing Afghan soldiers. These are just a few of the myriad imagines my son conveyed to me upon his return to the States. Those were the hardest and most heart-rending conversations I’ve ever had as a father.

We as a nation should be proud of our men and women in uniform there who despite the horrific circumstances gave their utmost best. I know I am."

Thank you for sharing. I hope you spread the politician’s response to this tragedy to everyone you know. We must get these evil people out of office. God bless your son. I appreciate him so very much.

Thank you, and you can bet I will spread the word. Any politician who is so callous to say that no one cares about the human tragedy and the hardships endured by our men and women in uniform, don't deserve to represent us. Period.

There is a huge difference between checking a watch after a debate, as opposed to checking a watch while 13 dead military members' bodies are being offloaded a military plane.

Not to the country hating liberal press. In fact, checking the watch after a debate is INFINATELY worse than 13 dead military members. Maybe he wanted to make sure he was on schedule to meet with his handlers on what to do or say next

Bush is a war criminal...along with Tony Blair, Rumsfeld, Cheney, C. Rice, etc.

Bush's 2 former party animal daughters never joined the military...

...amazing how it is always someone else who makes sacrifices for this country.

Always. Also amazing to me how many people think there are two distinct political parties in the US when they are exactly the same on every issue of substance: anti-American; pro-globalization; (extremely) pro-war; against tax raises on elites and large corporations / for taxes, fees, tolls, etc. against the average person and the small business; pro-vax (except for themselves, who they exempted); pro-open borders; unwilling to tackle drug trafficking; unwilling to address child sex trafficking; pro-deficit spending and blowing up the national debt...the list could go on and on.

Administration after administration, whether "R" or "D." FWIW, the Bushes are more Establishment than any other family. They practically created the modern version of it after HW left the CIA to help contain Reagan.

Their real name Is Scherff. Emigrated from Germany. They are, and always have been Nazis. Prescott Bush, 41's father, actively financially siided the Germans before and during WWII. And FYI, the Clintons made their bones running drugs through Mena airport for Bush. They are two sides of the same coin. Wanna watch a bloshevik's head explode ? Tell them that. I've done it.

I just did a quick search, and found this very long article which I only partially read enough of to see if it tied in with what I already knew, and it does. Much more too. Tesla is discussed all throughout the article, and I never knew the connection before. I was actually looking for the Averil Harriman bank connection . I'll go back and read it all later

https://beforeitsnews.com/eu/2020/02/the-history-and-mission-of-the-nazi-illuminati-bush-scherff-crime-family-2654405.html

And here is another article. It also mentions Bush 41 abandoning his plane and leaving his 2 crew members to die in WWII. My father was a pilot / navigator in bomber command of the RAF, and somehowhe know this story and told me ~50 years ago. Possibly because he read virtually every WWII book in the Brampton Ontario library. Needless to say, he had absolutely no use for Bush after he did this.

I might have made this comment in the past (not sure) but I shook hands with Georgie Bush 41 when I worked work on the Reagan Bush ‘84 campaign. I immediately pulled my hand away and looked at him in horror. I felt such darkness in his shake. He was a man to be feared. I have never had this happen again with anyone. My dad is a decorated war veteran with two Purple Hearts. He did not care for 41 but never said why. I have also shaken hands with Bush 42 but he was all lightness and sunshine. So this story does not surprise me.

Expand full comment
CMCM's avatar

Very few Americans know the meaning behind the show throw. In the Arab world you don't show the bottom of your shoes to anyone, such as sitting in a cross-legged way so that the shoe soles are visible. Throwing a shoe at someone is a huge insult. With Bush, it was well deserved.

Thanks for the reminder. I bought 13 American flags and displayed them in front of our home when this happened two years ago and have done so on the anniversary since then. I attended Dylan Merola’s memorial as he lives in the town adjacent to us and I will never forget this tragedy that never should have happened. Stolen elections have consequences.

Towns and counties SHOULD commemorate and memorialize the day and those willfully sacrificed and maimed as a Day of Failure in Retreating from Foreign Intervention. The DEEP STATE and Dems saw nothing wrong and zero mistakes made and the "what difference does it make" attitude toward OUR honorable soldiers (their pawns). push your Town Councils and Trustees to memorialize the "successful" withdrawal in some official manner.

it must be palatably worded and presented but it's worth pushing....if they decline to do it then they can proudly state why they disavow such a declaration to memorialize our heroes.

Afghanistan Service Day; Tribute and Memorial to ALL who served. With particular emphasis on The Brave 13 who were sacrificed Aug 26th, 2021. Publicly READ or display the quotes of our "leaders" in regard to the bungled withdrawal and abandoning of Americans and others to the control of the Taliban. It's not finger pointing it's FACTUAL. I like the idea of the 24th (Day of the unchallenged Suicide attack) over the 31st of Aug--the day Everyone who was callously left behind was told they wanted to stay or they'd have been extracted already. Either day works as a remembrance standing as both a Memorial to the Brave and Testament to the architects and Overseers of the debacle, betrayal, and retreat.
