Maybe so. Maybe not. And I am not convinced that it is that simple. Also, there are appearances made for gain, and decades of China's deceptive double playing of East and against West, of which the Chinese were the more masterful players (con artists?).

Balance of Power struggles, once they begin in earnest, are real. And they proclaim real divides. And in this, the Ukraine debacle has changed the map of the world for the rest of the 21st century. And how much of a train wreck for the West this has been is not nearly recognized enough. But a lot of the more articulate thinking crowd here at home and abroad see it. Financially and militarily, and now to the rest of the world, the USG appears to be more of a paper tiger with adolescent Clown Rulers in charge, a vapid nothing. But who knows? Maybe Trump and what's behind him can make a change? Right now everything is an yet to be written book with no final ending.

Long term China has it problems. A lot of people in China are not too happy with the CCP. And China, believe it or not, has some of the very same internal structural problems which has leveled the United States. Right now China appears to be ascendent, but unless dealt with ... all cows come home to the barn. My guess best, though, is that China will have it's day in the sun. And the United States will continue to slide unless 'the adjustments' are radically in the opposite direction of what they have been. And too early to say yet.

And then there is the fact that China's population and reproduction rate is also cratering as it is here in the West. I don't know what to make of all that except it will be nothing good.
