Rural people always talked about the weather. More than likely they were farmers and their livelihoods depended on watching the weather. It was a topic you could count on.
Farmer’s lament:
“Rain and sex—their neighbor always got more.” 😁
Right! And now they are the same "third rail" of conversation.
Sigh. Everything has been politicized. Absolutely everything.
