Yes, it’s definitely a way of clearing your head. I do use it almost like a prayer time quite often. I’m glad your forced break from running had the silver lining of getting you back to church! And also glad you can now run again!

I’ve enjoyed reading about both of your love of running! I ran up to my 50th birthday. But just started having so much pain in my back and knees. So I stopped and only walk now. I miss running sooooo much! Just like you said--used it for quiet time and taking in everything outside around you. Was spiritual as much as physical. Hope you both are able to get back to it and enjoy it.

Not sure if you meant me with the “both” but I’m still running 🙂 Ran a marathon about two weeks ago in fact 😁

I’m sorry you haven’t been able to run anymore 😞 If you want to try something different that might help you get back to it, I highly recommend The Sling Method! Paul Howell has helped so many injured and hurting runners get back to pain-free running through his techniques! It’s pretty amazing. (And no I don’t have any vested interest in it, I just think it’s a great, innovative method!).

RL, yes I did mean you and Jen! And yes, I could tell from your comments that you still run and love it! I will have to take a look at that book, tho I may be disqualified bc I now have dystonia in my left foot and a partial knee replacement in left knee. Sigh! Oh well. I’ll still take a look at your recommendation. Thanks! Keep on running!

In case you want to have a look 🙂

Also feel free to send a message to Paul if you’re wondering if you are a good candidate for this, he’s super accessible and very knowledgeable!
