Schools have always had cult like environments, but my lord it has increased a thousand fold the last few years. I used to get bullied by teachers and other students for wanting to be by myself at lunch and recess. I did not like other people and still don't, for the most part. I'm just solitary. We went on a 3rd grade class trip and I slipped on very loose gravel and fell. The teacher said it was my fault because I wanted to be alone, which is completely illogical. Point is, they have always been cults with the mentality of "You must all think like I say and be like every one else", and in my case, I was "bad" because I wanted to be alone. Critical thinking skills were taught more in high school, but even then, there was an insane amount of pressure to be "normal". The school called my parents numerous times because I wanted to be alone, did not fit in, and questioned everything.
That cult mentality has not changed. Students are still excepted to fit a mold both in what they are being taught and how they act. The issue is now they are being taught 100% untrue things like "men can get pregnant" and are being attacked for seeing and speaking reality. When you teach someone not to believe what they are seeing and experiencing, even when it is something completely true, that's called brainwashing, gaslighting, manipulation and abuse. It's similar to a sexual abuse experience for a kid: "I didn't really do that, you imagined it." The worst kind of abuse is teaching someone to doubt themselves and it looks like Seattle is doing an excellent job, along with a good part of the rest of the country.
When i hear co-workers talk about what their kids deal with.........mine are in college now and still...the indoctrination never ends.
I homeschooled mine. Never thought that was something i would do but it turned out to be one of THE BEST things i've ever done. For you parents out there - please consider it. With small exceptions, your kids are in a toxic cesspool. Get them out. The memories you will have later on will be priceless, the time spent with them is irreplaceable. It was do-able for a married couple and later as a young widow. AND still worked full time. Wasn't easy at the time but looking back now, i wouldn't hesitate for a millisecond to do it all over again.
That's awesome! I am glad you were able to homeschool. I never had children, but there is no way in the world they would set foot in a public school. Between the cultism, wokeism, the "vaccines" required, and the constant push to generate fear and compliance, it's a hard pass. I still don't think schools teach much of value, either. No shop. No home ec, which is the main reason I can cook from scratch today. God bless my mom, but she used boxes and cans. Were in not for one high school class, so would I.
It makes me concerned that there appears to be a part of our population that sees nothing wrong with the education system. Are those parents not paying attention to what is going on in the kid's school or do they know and not care?
I homeschool my twin 11 year old granddaughters who live with my husband and I. I recently had a discussion with a para-educator at a local school. Her main concern wasn't sex education at primary school or even vaccines. It was the out of control kids in the classroom. The disruptions are continuous and makes a learning environment impossible. It's a real disadvantage to kids trying to learn. She said she would homeschool if her kids. weren't grown.
My guess is that many just have a 'contract it out' attitude about so many areas of life, including the raising of children, having absorbed the 100+ year old regressive "Progressive" ethic that only 'experts' should think and should run things, while the rest of us work menial jobs to pay for what the 'experts' think best. We can see by what happened in Loudoun County, Virginia, and by the institution and rapid spread of Moms for Liberty that some now realize that's what they were doing. Others may be too busy working two jobs to keep their heads above water financially to know, or perhaps some are what Aristotle called 'natural slaves,' such that they neither know nor care.
When my daughter was in 4th grade a friends father offered to test AND medicate her for social anxiety. I said no thanks. When she went to college all of her friends were on medication. Looks like you learned to think for yourself and that critical skill survived your education. Congrats.
Wow! I just read a substack on the brain damage SSRI’s do to babies when the mom takes them while pregnant. They actually have reduced gray matter and experience withdrawal symptoms that make them miserable. I wonder how many of those college girls would take an ssri if they knew how hard they are to quit. And if you don’t quit and get pregnant the baby will suffer.
That's exactly right - it's a kind of abuse. Forcing kids to deny what they can see with their own eyes. I've never realized it before now, but that is why this makes me so uncomfortable. The gaslighting absolutely is a kind of abuse, not all that dissimilar from sexual abuse.
Theres a funny meme (true meme) that shows a screenshot of a shirt sold on amazon listing all the 'genders' and then only 2 size styles to choose from, mens or womens.
Yes, school, public or private is a cult/gang. It has always been that way in the sense that some kids are "popular" and dictate the unspoken "rules" somehow and others try to fit in but don't and others just want to get done and get out so they can move on.
Interesting what you say about it being a cult. A little while ago I was thinking about all the teacher appreciation stuff parents do and thought it was almost like worship offerings. The constant refrain of “we’re so grateful for everything you do” recited almost like a prayer and the kowtowing to teachers and school officials did make me think of a cult like mindset.
I’m not saying we can’t express gratefulness, to be clear, but I just feel it’s on a whole different level from a small Christmas or end of the year gift or note to a special teacher that we used to do.
The "participation prizes for all!" generation morphed into needy adults requiring daily affirmations and too many school kids stuck with me-me-me toddler brains.
FourWinds ...the famous The Asch conformity experiments were a series of psychological experiments conducted by Solomon Asch in the 1950s. The experiments revealed the degree to which a person's own opinions are influenced by those of a group. Asch found that people were willing to ignore reality and give an incorrect answer in order to conform to the rest of the group.
It takes a strong mind and resolve to maintain what you did to get through school Four Winds. Bravo!
My son had a heck of a time all the way up through 7th grade. He was in a mix of public schools and private schools. He was never accepted because he had concrete beliefs and didn't do what everyone else did just because "that's the way it is supposed to be." If he didn't see the rationale or purpose, he just wasn't going to do it. But to be honest, I really wished he would go along with the little things every now and then because it made for much loneliness - and he is a total people person, believe it or not. Now he's a sophomore and has, maybe, one buddy. But I watch him coming out the door of school and he holds the door for everyone. Whatever he was designed for, I know Hod created him to do big things. I am so proud of his critical thinking skills - far and above most of his peers, despite he can't just keep his mouth shut when someone says something incorrect. 😜
I am an outspoken, unapologetic, Creationist and that led to some spicy times in the public schools I attended. My Physics teacher eventually altered some of his lectures while I was in his class. I even met with him after school. I hope it caused him to question at least some of the orthodoxy.

Thank God for good teachers - they are out there.
Thank you for what you wrote. That wasn't easy.

It seems they don’t want to know and do not care.

Unfortunately, if they even knew about the damage they are doing, they would choose the default solution. Abortion.

It appears sex and gender depend on ‘context’ (Biology class vs Diversity Social Justice class) just like violence toward Jews.

Not kind of abuse. Blatant child abuse!

I keep thinking about this ad/PSA from the 70s 😕 No wonder people are so focused on themselves!
