Hello WS. Rough day. Re: Phil - Really? That's sad. I've always enjoyed (if not agreed with) his posts and he always has a respectful tone. Some of the other BS going on around here today...not so enjoyable or respectful.

Like, did you know: apparently the guy with the bullet hole through his ear did it to himself? And took the chance of being shot through the head in order to stage an event? And the people who started screaming and taking cover were actors? And the people who were shocked were actors? And the other people who were confused and didn't do anything were actors? And the USSS agents - who dove on top of and covered the President - were also acting? And they didn't even act out the "right" thing b/c they should have...carried him off or something...while there was still an active shooter?

I'm sorry, I just can't take these people today. Some folks are way too far down the rabbit hole and some folks just can't stand Trump to the degree they'll make up anything to justify their hatred of him. I shouldn't have clicked into this comment section today, lol.

Thanks RU, as is so often the case, you’ve expressed my own thoughts perfectly. I adhere to Occam’s Razor—these incredibly convoluted theories just don’t hold water for me.

Thanks, RL. Tough day. I think I was perhaps too harsh in a couple comments today. :-( I just don't have the mental space today for the theories that are a little too far down the rabbit hole. They seemed designed only to undermine Trump or conservatives more generally; either to make him the perpetrator instead of the victim and/or to make us look like drooling imbeciles. Occam's Razor, as you said.

It's too early to say much of substance, but I haven't seen anything so far that can't be explained by: too little secret service assigned to him; incompetence on the part of those assigned to him (as if it should surprise us that they'd assign the low performers or inexperienced agents to him); and 9+ years of totally unhinged propaganda aimed at Trump, pretty much designed to incite one of the crazies to violence. Seems to me that's the way the deep state operates: make people nuts with psychotropic meds and then incite them to violence via the media. Not sure anything we saw yesterday requires any more "layers" to explain it. But, I guess we'll see what we learn as this unfolds and we find out more about the shooter.

Good take on that.

Yes, agree with all of that. It’s just funny to me how some people seem sure of the “truth” without actual evidence. I’ve seen a lot of speculation based on beliefs and conjecture today, rather than any actual facts. And some think *any* supposed facts are not to believed. We’re accused of not being critical thinkers but to me, critical thinking doesn’t just mean automatically disbelieving everything, it’s analyzing the situation and deciding what makes sense based on the information you have and also based on past events or actions.

Well, you're correct in that. Rejecting everything that is offered as fact is the definition of uncritical reactivity. It's the opposite of critical thinking. It's based on logical fallacies.

Thanks for sharing. It makes sense that the Dem brain trust would seed that narrative into the dialogue. I imagine the same happened with all the incidents that led to BLM riots.

Townhall has a good article on the shooter. Based off the comments from his classmates, neighbors, and instructor he was a smart but weird kid that had tendencies that his shooting instructor found disturbing. They didn't invite him back to the shooting class b/c of that and b/c he was a terrible shot. The more I think it through, the more it seems he panicked after he saw that cop look at him and just quickly fired a bunch of shots in the direction of Trump. Trump is very lucky. (Still doesn't explain why USSS didn't take him out before he shot, but basic incompetence could explain that. Or being gun shy about killing a possibly innocent person and having to deal with the anti-police MSM afterward. That alone would have tanked Trump's campaign. Police in general have been walking on eggshells post-George Floyd.)

Anyway, here is the article:

Right? The simplest explanation that fits the facts is usually more right than wrong.

Thanks, RU, for your concern. Yes, it is a rough day; yet filled with a heart full of gratitude. How awesome is our God!

You’re spot on and I’m getting off now. Some of these people are flat out crazed with hatred.

Or truthtellers--the same truthtellers you believed about the vaccine. But you just can't have your hero questioned or you'll have a nervous breakdown. Because you've pinned all your hopes on him and have nowhere else to turn. Put your big boy pants on.
