The emotion attached to the spleen is worry. The spleen was considered a part of the “four bodily humors: blood, phlegm, yellow bile, and black bile. Black bile was believed to be secreted by the spleen, causing feelings of disposition ranging from intense sadness (melancholia) to irascibility.” Healthy and strong spleen Qi keeps one from becoming splenetic 😉
