I was thinking the same thing. Corn pop hasn't been right ever. 1st - 2021 prediction of pandemic and death to the unvaccinated. 2nd - Russian defeat and Ukrainian victory. Wrong on both accounts. Matter of fact, both the unvaccinated and Russia are surviving and doing quite well. FJB and all his ilk!

Disgusting Russian propaganda. Mariupol is a graveyard and there's no official death count as Russia wouldn't let the Red Cross in to see the thousands of bodies from their bombing of civilians there.

Putin's "liberation" of Russian speakers there led to them being murdered in mass. Putin's plundering oligarchs, family and friends were buying up property and building atop of the graves.

Russia is really a terrorist state. People in the US can't conceive of this bloodthirsty barbarism.

Why would Russia trust The Red Cross? They are another farce entity pretending to help but doing the opposite. They are accused of trafficking but that is well covered up, and their humble beginnings aren't what they seem. Just look at their symbolism. The logo resembles the knights of Malta and Templar mafia secret societies' symbols.

Ask a Russian what they think of Putin's beliefs and how things really are for them.

Ask an American what they think of Biden's belief's and how things really are for us.

Then, compare the answers.

OK Iron, I'll bite. Agree with Andrew Tate when he says there are no purely good guys and no purely bad guys. But Z lost 2,000 men just this past weekend. For 20 years the US has been prepping to fight insurgents with IEDs and goat herders with flintlocks, not an actual battlefield foe. The main axis is electronic warfare and drone and artillery targeting, and the Russians are first class cyber warriors. These are scientists who sent back pictures from the surface of Venus in *1978*. Putin is giving a 1 million ruble reward for anyone who kills a Leopard, so the Uke's won't even get in them. Their drone factory chief said he is upping production from 200,000 units per year to 1M. No, my read is that they already see the shiny new next war (West Africa) and soon Americans will be instructed to find Niger on a map. This means Diem, oops I mean Saddam, oops I mean Moammar, oops I mean Zelensky needs to have a chopper ready so he can get out to his villa in the Bahamas quick smart. Joe will declare victory and ship the gear to Africa, a black hole even further away from prying eyes. We'll be told we must support the brave and noble alliance of black heroes like Nigeria against the not really very black people of Niger, that modern French colonialism in Africa is not really colonialism at all, not the icky British kind from 180 years ago anyway. The uppity Poles are the key to our "strategy" in tatters, and they are demanding large chunks of the corpse once referred to as "Ukraine", so come back in two years and we can talk about what the new map looks like

Interesting comment about Poland vying for chunks of Ukraine. At one time, before Catherine the Great, Frederick of Prussia, and Maria Theresa of Austria partitioned Poland, eventually whittling it down to what we might think of as a metro area around Warsaw, much today’s Ukraine was part of the Poland-Lithuania Commonwealth. And Kiev/Kyiv was in Russia. The Ottomans had Crimea until Catherine’s army captured it.

No question the West and Russia are spewing propaganda. I believe we will never know what is true.

Expand full comment
Iron Horsey's avatar

Not sure what you are biting on. Putin says a lot of nonsense but he's not even paying his own soldiers. Many Russian soldiers are complaining how they haven't been paid in months. Others are being paid less than agreed as they are declared to be "in Russia" even though they are in Ukraine.

Putin who has looted Russia for $200 billion or more out of Russia doesn't even keep paying soldiers according to the terms. They manipulate it like crazy.

As for Africa, take a look at where the Wagner Group is and you can see what Russia thinks of Africa. It's their plunder and looting playground.

Mr. Childers claims Russia's economy is doing great but many of these poor soldiers from the boondocks are not paid and their families can't eat. Others killed in Ukraine are declared "missing" so they don't get the family death benefits.

Poland isn't demanding any of Ukraine. Not sure why you think all this Putinoid propaganda is real, AusYank. Those uppity Poles.

I’m losing respect for this entire back and forth — both sides.

Iron Horsey, as I want to treat people with respect and to not ascribe bad motives NOR make unknowable assumptions, may we please have some links? True accounts of specific personal experience can be helpful too.

Furthermore, disagreement & discussion is fine. But you have no idea what I nor what anyone else knows about these things — nor what I (or anyone) can or cannot “conceive of this bloodthirsty barbarism”…or any other, for that matter. Presumptions are not helpful; accusations are stupid. And this all applies to those who engage here (stern stink eye to you all. )

Without corroborating and substantiating citations linked to our opinions, it’s just hot air.

I've shared links. Not too many.

Institute for the Study of War offers a tight overview from their website on developments. It will be deemed a "neocon" source not on par with Rumble grifters. ISW does provide good information however and is viewed globally as a good source.

Solzhenitsyn even passed is another good source. His work addresses well the problems in Russia today especially since the Russian Orthodox Church is led by a KGB man who now claims that Russia's attacks on Ukraine and its citizens is doing God's work. This mentality as you may have noticed surfaces here in the comments. It's attracted these Russians who support Putin's War.

Thank you, Iron Horsey. As you have done, links should be provided by everyone for any assertion they know to be contrary.

Solzhenitsyn was indeed a truly great man. I agree with that. I’ve plowed his books and warnings to the West. We haven’t listened. But godlessness comes in many forms. Many disguises. I think only He can give real discernment. It was when Solzhenitsyn was reborn in Christ that his thoughts gained their profound and prophetic insights.

I will make a statement here from scripture and logic both: to be anti-god is anti-christ is anti-man.

Concerning the link you provided (and thank you!), this prelate appears to appropriate God’s prerogative to discipline His children in His Sovereign, Just, and Wise Love, but wrongly, by baptizing & sanctifying the actions of a State! Agreed. That is NOT good!

But, I also have several reservations about that linked post itself: 1) The prelate speaking is NOT identified in the post. 2) The man posting the translated video is an apologist for Ukraine, who hates Russia. 3) I have no way of knowing, given the above, that it is objectively or correctly translated. 4) It is clearly intended to both define Russia’s actions and to demonstrate that they have a twisted evil intent, but, without providing proper information, it’s no different than “Rumble grifters”, which you denigrate.

It provides only the writer’s opinion, which is clearly motivated to persuade or bolster his point of view, but not to give a whole truth since nothing is provide to help one judge for oneself. This lack of information and its biased source and thought-leading make it appear dishonest and suspect.

I hit some snags with your post as well. (Though I thank you again for writing a nice reply and posting a link 👏🏻.)

I have nothing against the Ukrainian nor the Russian people. People generally love their country and what patriotism should be is the desire to protect and care for her people.

The actualities of which government and its oligarchy is more corrupt than another, I will put aside — mainly because I hate all corruption and very few countries are not steeped in it. It’s not hard to find thousands of examples. Godless lies and propaganda (manipulative lies and partial truths) are ubiquitous. Yes, and labels are a part of that. And please do keep in mind that not everyone who criticizes Ukraine is a Putin apologist, puppet — or uninformed or stupid.

My interest is in getting to truth, getting to reason, getting to a peaceful life for all. I’m American and I want MY country to be good — honorable, wise and just. I want to know how we can get there.

We (the US) are deliberately promoting and extending a war, instead of working for peace — well before this war, early on and on up to the present. While men are sent to die, the oligarchs and pols — and shamefully, ours — profit by their sacrifice.

What we do, what I see here displayed with all this arguing back and forth, is too often often childish bickering. You both point fingers and argue about who the bad guy is until it degrades to new depths of grade school immaturity. (And I am not immune to that myself.) Stink eye on the lot of us when we do this! We’re better than that.

What I’d like to see us do is to point to good men, great men, rather than just argue about which nation is the bad one, therefore their enemy must be the good one. Because, “An enemy of my enemy” is rarely my friend. They too can be an enemy — or a handy tool. Who is the friend when one’s own country is against him, hence, is his enemy? Can there be opposing leaders and forces that are all wrong — in part or whole?

The people who suffer from an illegal invasion/occupation speaking is not inherently wrong.

Evaluate the consistency of the speaker versus someone like a Jackson Hinkle who is obviously on the Putin ruble dime.

Expand full comment
Dick's avatar

…and no, it’s not inherently wrong to state a position or grievance. But here, he was presenting as facts something that is in the public domain, yet coyly and deceptively presented. And I question the innocence of Ukraine, the US and Nato in all this; I think your first words have yet to be established as a given.

Expand full comment
Dick's avatar

Ok. I understand what you’re saying.

But the first point begs the question entirely. Your assertion is based on arguable assumptions, but which have not been established in our discussion. It then becomes based purely on which evidence we deem reliable and which we do not, based on disparate sources which are the heart of the matter in the first place.

I had said that since the man you linked to was a self- subscribed Ukraine apologist AND provided no information one could use to examine his assertions (with clear intent to persuade the reader). Nor could I check the accuracy of the translation. And by omitting —or withholding —these he impeaches himself as a reliable source. I have no way of proving his veracity and neither do you!

Further, had I quoted Jackson Hinkle, your critique might possess some legitimacy (which we would have to endeavor to prove or disprove). But, since I did not mention him at all (I have nothing to do with him) you merely set up a random (& irrelevant!) straw man to knock down.

I’m trying to see if we can start on a level playing field. Please address the issues I raised and leave the assumptions, irrelevancies, straw men and name calling, Ok?

If we can talk about what you’ve linked using verifiable information and objectivity, that would be a good start.

In this case, giving a this prelate’s name and the date of recording would help. Then I could find various translations and check one against another.

I’m bent on ascertaining & settling the question of whom to trust. If we poke holes in one-another’s

Assumptions and assertions, let’s do it with an aim to ascertain & reveal facts & larger truth, not to vilify or denigrate someone or other here or just keep making assertions. As I said before, I think the discussions here degraded to an embarrassingly low level! (Hence the stink eye all around the room 🤨)

I think you agree that we all need to curb & guard against that all-to-human tendency!

Peace and grace to you. Peace in the world. Peace with God.

Reason and logic have no effect on BNN. My guess is he has a racial hatred of Russians based on the fact that he insists that "The Empire" still exists and apparently will always exist as long as there is one Russian still alive. Actual history has no effect on him. The great empire, the Soviet Union USSR, collapsed many years ago. The real enemy in his mind are the Russian people as they are all monsters who want to enslave the entire world and genocide their neighbors. As long as Russians exist, the Soviet Empire exists. I believe that you only have to look at the current state of affairs in Afghanistan to get an idea of what happens when the USA moves on to the next thing. Remember how Biden botched the withdrawal?....Many USA troops were killed (and far more were injured, some very seriously but the MSM will never discuss that), our allies were blindsided by the non-coordinated withdrawal, any Afghanis that helped the US were targeted by the Taliban, the Afgani President fled, and the Taliban took over, etc.

Oh, and you no longer hear anything about Afghanistan in the news.

The same thing happened with Persia. We've been sanctioning them since 1980, and they took advantage of the sanctions to develop their own tech sector and a world-beating medical system.

A similar process can happen at the individual level. Unpopular or de-statused people are not allowed to follow the easy career paths or the easy social paths, so they develop their own ways of surviving. Booker T and Carver were preaching this gospel, leading to a strong black professional class in 1940. Yes, we've already had these conversations at my church.

Agreed, I fear anyone in power is compromised. So we are fighting over crumbs at this point, short of a peasant rebellion, which seems unlikely.

Now if Elon takes over Twitter, which use to be a no-go zone, and allows us to debate vaxines and election fraud, that's commendable.

Should be interesting to see where that goes and if the "unfair treatment" has all sorts of other meanings that Elon's company will take as loopholes.

Let us know how that turns out for Dr. Goddek--I don't trust Elon as far as I could throw him--and I'm not very strong...

Finally, remember that increased worldwide atmospheric water vapor caused by the historic Hunga Tonga eruption is expected to raise Earth’s temperatures by at least 1.5 degrees all by itself. Which just shows you how little they really understand about the world’s climate...

...I’ve been linking the NPR article

In one year this disappeared...

...100 years of human climate change suffering GONE in hours

I saw that earlier. Linked it. My hubby—a science guy, had never heard of that volcano and what it did.

I’ve been acquainted with many people recently traveling within the RV community and use any occasion of “climate” discussion to tell them about the Hunga Tonga eruption. They invariably start searching the internet to find out more since they had never heard of it. Hope I’ve opened a few eyes 👀

We just like the name and now use it as a synonym for “whew, it’s hot out there!”

This whole, “we overshot the target” with Ukraine, and didn’t realize how stupid they were is reminiscent of covid hysteria; lockdowns, masks, ventilators, and planet saving jabs. Science! Except now it is “we just didn’t know”…🤷‍♀️

I have been thinking lately that there a lot of similarities in the approaches. Even the way the two pro posters here talk about the subject.

It's just the same repeating of a narrative over and over, in the hope that it will be believed.

He has chosen a poor forum for that.

His goal might only be to harm the signal-to-noise ratio.

Or the “denial” response, like: “But masks DID work and SAVED MILLIONS OF LIVES. If only EVERYONE would’ve worn masks, NOONE would’ve died!” This imperviousness to cognitive dissonance really should be studied. What variables participate to make this psychology possible? The totalitarians wouldn’t approve though. It would make it harder to deploy propaganda efficiently.
