I take some comfort in knowing that this sort of headline would have been verboten even a year ago. The tide is turning and the real public opinion is showing through. The silent majority is no longer silent on this issue and it's popping up in all sorts of places. The swim teams are kicking men out of women's meets. There was a story recently of a Tennis admin losing his job for letting a man compete against women. I agree it never should have gotten to this point, but there's hope for protecting real women in their sports again.
True, but we were silenced by that same media. The fact that people are getting stories like this through and not being bigoted/hateful means that narrative is shifting. Perhaps the "silenced majority" would have been a more appropriate description.
There is definitely a good proportion of people who just hold their tongue for a long time in hopes of keeping peace, but that just leads to escalation. I know a lot of people who practice true tolerance - you do your thing and leave me alone. But that definition of tolerance has shifted into "affirm me or we will never leave you alone" and that's now pushed those truly tolerant people into pushing back.
I'm sure this will all come back at some point, but for the moment the normal people are becoming more and more fed up with the narrative trying to erase women.

I take some comfort in knowing that this sort of headline would have been verboten even a year ago. The tide is turning and the real public opinion is showing through. The silent majority is no longer silent on this issue and it's popping up in all sorts of places. The swim teams are kicking men out of women's meets. There was a story recently of a Tennis admin losing his job for letting a man compete against women. I agree it never should have gotten to this point, but there's hope for protecting real women in their sports again.

True, but we were silenced by that same media. The fact that people are getting stories like this through and not being bigoted/hateful means that narrative is shifting. Perhaps the "silenced majority" would have been a more appropriate description.
There is definitely a good proportion of people who just hold their tongue for a long time in hopes of keeping peace, but that just leads to escalation. I know a lot of people who practice true tolerance - you do your thing and leave me alone. But that definition of tolerance has shifted into "affirm me or we will never leave you alone" and that's now pushed those truly tolerant people into pushing back.
I'm sure this will all come back at some point, but for the moment the normal people are becoming more and more fed up with the narrative trying to erase women.
Erasure if women, religion, manliness, personal responsibility, morality , ethics, freedom of speech, freedom of assembly. They are pretty much doing it in a shotgun approach. And the whole time with the full compliment of media, law, and government. Itβs gonna take a war in this country to set things right.
