I did hear a random report (no idea if it's true) that said it was related to the onions they put on the burger...as I recall, they are chopped up, and they could have gotten contaminated with raw meat or some such, then the bacteria would proliferate. But who knows for sure?

All it takes is someone who handled the raw veg to not wash their hands after using the restroom to contaminate the onion. There was a report I read that they were looking at the supplier for the onions as the burger meat is cooked to 170. Which is well above the temp for E. coli to be killed. Where as the onions are not cooked. I’m looking for a reformulation of the QuarterPounder soon to eliminate the use of raw anything.
