To counteract the fast moving, good news of the dismantling of the DC swamp, I am reading a book written about an Amish community in western PA. Fascinating as the author explains to outsiders the reasons for many of the Amish customs. Explained in the vein of their closeness to God, then family, and community, it is such an enlightening book of how far off the rails we have gone. Such a nice counterpoint to all of this “winning”, we are seeing. For them it’s never about that. I think they are the winners.
I don’t recall calling them saints. I was recounting what I was reading from the author who lives among the community of Amish. I have no reason to doubt what she is telling me about the Amish she knows.
The Amish are spread pretty much all over the US. They have different sects and orders, but to label them as having a dark side is off the mark. Yes, they are sinners, we all are. But to label them somehow sinister, I think is wrong.
It might be more helpful to just retype or copy and paste the title. Sometimes it’s very hard to get back to or find part of a comment thread in Substack 😕
Hahaha 😂 I had an internship in college with USAID, and although it sounded great on paper, I can’t recall one useful or productive thing they had me do except to go through some old handbooks and get rid of them.
"In college in late 2009 she airdropped into Niger in the middle of a giant civil war just months before what appears to be a US-backed military coup in early 2010 launched against the sitting gov't the West had condemned & was cutting aid to"
Also a thread on Liz Chaney was promoted through USAID.
and:
"Obama's mother worked for USAID, then the CIA adjacent Ford Foundation, and the Asia Development Bank and is credited with pioneering micro loans in Indonesia"
and "Someone from AOC's program became USAID's Niger Mission Director (Country Representative, USAID's version of Ambassador), noting it was "instrumental in shaping our careers." Now he's at USAID's Democracy Rights & Governance (DRG) office, which today is USAID's censorship center"
"Two bored security guards refused entry, so the furious progressives delivered speeches to each other on the sidewalk..." And, I'm dead. Thanks.

I always tell my family member who is politically oriented that I have no interest in politics because it has made the world one giant argument.
Lately, at least it’s been kind of an amusing argument since the coolest president in my lifetime is in office
"Explained in the vein of their closeness to God, then family, and community,..."
Similar to the hierarchy of charity JD Vance was talking about this past weekend.
Will you share the title of the book?
The title of the book is “Inside the Simple Life: Finding Inspiration among the Amish”, by Susan Hougelman.
I bought the book online from an Amish online shop, she runs selling Amish made products from her community.
They also have a dark side, like all human beings. Believe me, they are not all saints.
I don’t recall calling them saints. I was recounting what I was reading from the author who lives among the community of Amish. I have no reason to doubt what she is telling me about the Amish she knows.

Dark side = sinner. Same thing.
I love the Amish and puritans
What’s the name of the book?

I think that should do it.
Prob would have been a good idea to put in the orig post.
My comment to you got placed below "bones".
Wow.
"AOC, promoting USAID all over X today, actually came from a USAID program in college to jumpstart her miracle political career."

AOC is a moron, but is backed by some very malignant and smart people... I hope they all are exposed and doxxed.

That makes USAID sound even more like it’s a front for something else!
Maybe your boobs weren't large enough?
Following that thread, he went into Liz Cheney and USAID.

And it makes you HMMM! How much more are the Cheneys involved in corruption. Rumor has it that it is more than you can guess. Starting with pops.
I definitely think Ilhan Omar is all tangled up in that too 😡
That is reason enough to get rid of it forever! We don’t need any more AOC’s.

Wow
Best reason to ax it!!
“To each other” 😂 the visual ! So good
I guess the goon squad armies (Antifa, BLM, etc, only show up if paid well). Omar and company are fighting for their lives, however weakly.
And the demonic goon armies don’t have the assurance of no prosecution now!
Yes, delightfuly hilarious! Wonderful ❤️
Hahahaha!!!
