The Babylon Bee noted what I thought was horrific choice of a song played at the funeral of a president who was deeply devoted to his faith in the Lord! (Imagine by John Lennon) I have not seen anyone else outraged by this performance within the walls of a Church, although I may have missed such articles or comments.

Babylon Bee:

Mourners who had gathered at the National Cathedral on Thursday to say goodbye to former President Jimmy Carter came away comforted after Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood sang a song about how there's no heaven, religion is a lie, and everything is ultimately meaningless.

Steve Deace posted this on Facebook yesterday about the song choice: "Nothing says "devout Christian" quite like Jimmy Carter requesting godless/communist lullaby "Imagine" be played at his funeral."

I’m glad someone else noticed how inappropriate (and that word is mildly put) this song was for Jimmy Carter’s funeral. I was outraged as I watched and listened to the lyrics preformed at his funeral. I am sure Carter would NOT have approved of it.

I wonder whose idea it was to have this song as part of his funeral?

Did Carter request it, or was Steve Deace being factious?

All I know is what Steve said. :/

It was sung at his wife's funeral, by her request, so they sang it at his also.

Demonic.

Agreed… Demonic indeed.

Communism and Godlessness over God was more important to the Carters? Sad.
